Re: which set to get

1. Is this with K'Nex or CD?
2. If it's Knex, is this with SS or VV?
3. If it's SS, I would go with a Screamin' Serpent.

EDIT: Oh sorry, didn't see that it was in the CD subforum.

Re: which set to get

I wuold buy a Dragon, because it has the most parts.
But if you not have that much money, you should buy a Scorpion.
Buy a Phoenix is just good, if you have a few parts before.

I am getting a Dragon for christmas!!!!!

Re: which set to get

If you plan to use the Hyper train, I will strongly suggest getting the Phoenix kit. Then buy the hyper train. The above track train will NOT work with the Scorpion / Dragon lift hills without serious modifications to trains and track.

I think 2 Phoenix kits should be enough for a decent table sized hyper coaster. You will have all you need. Also, you can sell your Phoenix train if you don't want them. Build the Phoenix buy following the instructions FIRST, to get a feel for how things go together. It takes about 2 hours straight to build... a Scorpion will take up to 6 + hours on your first try. Can you imagine what a Dragon kit will take beginner?

Check out JohnnyUpsidedown.com and his CoasterDynamix section about the Phoenix to see all that he has built with multiple Phoenix kits to give you an idea of what can be done.

CoasterDynamix

Go to the Catalog.

Currently the Scorpion is out of stock.

I suggest getting a Phoenix to start off with.

Re: which set to get

My suggestion is a Scorpion.

More pieces, doesnt take 6 hours to build and is easy to use.

Oh and better looking, better train and all the track is flexible.

Re: which set to get

That Pheonix looks prety beastly though.. The only problem witht the scorpion I see is that it's inverted, so what happens when you want to make a loooper?

Re: which set to get

Holy Crap those are expensive. I might still get one though thanks for the input.

One Ques.

Is it easy to build custom coasters out of this?

Thanks again!

Re: which set to get

That's an opinion. I would say yes. Although Coaster Dynamix can be frustrating, in general, there are less pieces, but more options for the builder. All in all; making a harder kit.

I highly recomend geting a Scorpian, Pheniox, Large scorpian expansion, one 4 foot lift spring and spring holder, and extra scorpian trains.

That what I have, and it's just enough.
