    [RCT3] Lake Beau Pre

Lake Beau Pre is my newest park in RCT3. I've been working on it on and off for about two months now. I'm doing this park realistically, and chronologically (certain rides can't be built until a certain time). The park is located in Louisiana, naturally. This is the park's first year in operation - 1970. And it's like wow, man. Here's the skinny on the exciting attractions at Lake Beau Pre.

The entrance of the park is designed to look straight out of the French Quarter.
We've even got a replica of the St. Louis cathedral. Groovilicious!

Here's a shot down the main midway.
We've got a coffee shop here for all those posh beatnik types.

In the corner near the entrance, we've got a Mariner's Inn, serving steak & seafood.
Mariner's Inn is a real restaurant in the city I grew up in. Their Black & Bleu is delicious!

At the far end of the French Quarter area, is the Cajun Corner area.
This is where you'll find the Cypress Creek log ride.

And at the opposite end, is the Confederate area.
This is where you can see the Southern Spectacular show inside this plantation style home.

The Skybuckets take you from the Confederate area to Cajun Corner.

In the Confederate area, you'll also find the park's first roller coaster.
It's the Bayou Darrow Mine Train. Can you dig it?

I've been on this thing and this ride is so far out!

You'll dive in and out of tunnels and snake your way through the thick swamp on this coaster.
    It's cool-city.

There's also a video! I didn't take it, of course, because video cameras won't exist for another 20 years or so.

All in all, it's a bangin' good time.

The one reason I loved RCT3 is because of the amazing theming that can take place. You kind of just made me want to re-download it and play it once again. Your "Soul" Train Coaster (instead of "Mine" ) looks really nice.

Wow! For minimal custom scenery that looks incredible! If there's one thing I'd improve it's the roller coaster supports. You should get the timber set and make custom supports. They'll look so much better than the weird in game ones...
Aside from that it looks great! I'd love to see some terraforming!

I'm saving the custom supports for the steel coasters.[/spoiler]
They're not too bad. But yeah, I get what you're saying.

And there actually is some terraforming under all that undergrowth.
I've just kept it very minimal because I wanted the park out in the marshlands.
Something you'd find off of Highway 3177, nearby to Lake Fausse State Park, just outside of St. Martinville, LA. Which is perfect for me because that's only a 30 minute drive from Lafayette
In fact, being just off of Hwy 90 makes it easily accessible to anyone from Houston to Mobile.
Heck, even Troy can get here!
Yeah, I've thought about this way too much

Anyways, It's now 1972. And what do we have to show for it?
For starters, check out this happenin' new sign at the park's entrance!
Just in case you hippies... uh.... forget where you are.

In 1971, the park saw many new additions in the flat rides department.
Cajun Corner saw the addition of a Tilt-A-Whirl...

... the French Quarter got the Zinger ride...

... and the Confederate area got the Flyin' Pirogues.

This year (1972) the park opened up a brand new area of the park, just beyond Cajun Corner.
    The Marsh!

[I've almost got a full circle. Yay!]
The Marsh is home to some crazy rides, man.
Here's one of my favorite flat rides, and the newest flat ride addition to the park.
The Zipper! This thing is like a Ferris Wheel on a bad trip. It's nuts!

Now for the most exciting news for this season.
Lake Beau Pre's 2nd roller coaster.
    The Screamer!

The first drop is an amazing 85 feet tall. That's, like, almost 100 feet!

You'll reach speeds of 50mph! You'd totally get arrested for driving that fast!

This ride really starts off with a splash.

And let's face it. From every angle, this is a very groovy ride.

Just look at these happy faces.

And here's another movie. It's better than The Godfather!

Wow dude, this park is looking LEGIT!! Will it be influenced by the eventual success of Michael Jackson's Thriller?

    Re: [RCT3] Lake Beau Pre

WOAH! 80 FEET! That's like, 3 mine trains. Stacked on top of each other!

This is pretty awesome. I thought it was a recreation at first.

HAHAHAHA I love you're talking with 70's slang. Awesome! Once again it would be awesome to see some custom supports on the woodie. I really dislike the ingame ones.

Looking forward to that steel coaster!

    Re: [RCT3] Lake Beau Pre

It's now 1976. And after 4 years of micro management, improving staff patrols, and price fixing, LBP has finally continued expansion! This season, we saw a much needed addition of family rides. Here they are.

Jazz Jet - a Schwarzkopf Jumbo Jet coaster.
Cloud Nine - an Intamin Parachute Drop.

This is Jazz Jet. And don't let the 'family ride' title discourage you. This ride is actually pretty fun. What it lacks in size, it makes up for in sheer twistedness. Plus, I hear that a nice park in Ohio has one of these, so they must be fairly popular.

Another family ride addition is Cloud Nine. Once again, don't let a little family orientation throw you off. It may not be fast or flippy, but it's big.

You get into these tiny little Ferris Wheel chairs and you're lifted up about 100 feet into the air and you drop! There's a parachute, thank goodness. I can't imagine what kind of nut would want to fall from this height

For a non-coaster ride, This thing has got some serious mechanics behind it.
And did I mention it's really tall? It's the tallest ride in the park. It's taller than The Screamer & the Sky Buckets.

Cloud Nine is so tall, it can be seen clearly from the French Quarter area.

But since I'm a big coaster fan, I was sure to get together a nice video of the Jazz Jet.

Is there a ride you'd like to see a POV of?
Let me know and I'll get it on my next visit

Cedar Point is that park. It's one of the best parks I've ever been to! It has 5 freaking roller coasters! A little less than half of all the coasters I've ridden are at Cedar Point. The park is insane

This coaster seems better than the one at Cedar Point though.

I love how even you talking about it makes it realistic. It just makes me laugh (in a good way) at how realistic it is. Even the music for the video is from the 70's. This is just awesome.

    Re: [RCT3] Lake Beau Pre

It's 1980! Lake Beau Pre is celebrating 10 years of operation!

    We've been awarded:
    - Safest Park (6 years running)
    - Most Beautiful (6 years running)
    - Best Reliability
    - Best Food
    - Park with Best Rollercoasters! <-- Awesome!!

A lot has changed in the last 4 years. (I know I skipped 1978's update)
So to get everybody up to speed, I'm going to start with 1978's addition.

    Sea Serpent

After the success and popularity of Jazz Jet, LBP has contracted Schwarzkopf to build another great ride for the park. And we got something good

Sea Serpent sits in the newest section of the park, Pirate Alley.

It's Schwarzkopf's shuttle loop model. The new kind with the weight drop and the better looping loop support!

This is Lake Beau Pre's first looping coaster.

It's also the park's first launch coaster.

Here's a nice shot. That ferris wheel is new. Just built this year as part of the 10 year celebration thing going on. But I'll get back to that.

    Daddy Long Legs

Cypress Creek Log Ride now has a new neighbor, Daddy Long Legs. This coaster is a wild mouse coaster built by Canadian manufacturer Princeton Machine (very small company). It makes a nice addition to this section of the park, between the log ride and The Screamer.

Don't let the small footprint fool you, this is one heck of a kiddie ride.

You sit in a one-car-train and get thrown around a maze of orange and black wood.

    The Big Easy

The Park's signature "10th anniversary" attraction.

The Big Easy is an enormous Ferris wheel.
    Hidden content

The Big Easy is located above the Mine Train's underground tunnel.

The wheel is an astonishing 150ft in diameter and can be seen just about anywhere in the park.

From the top of The Big Easy, you can see all of Bayou Darrow Mine Train.

    Other Stuff

The entrance has a new sign.

All of the park's major attractions now have signs.

And of course, a video of Lake Beau Pre's newest major attraction: Sea Serpent. (new font)

Is there a ride you want a POV of? Let me know here and I'll get it on my next visit

The rumors are true. LBP is getting one of those Arrow Dynamics hybrid coasters in 1983.
I've also heard it's going to have some sort of animal theme.

Kinda looks like the Mine Train on steroids

This strongly reminds me of Excalibur at Valleyfair. Hopefully, it will be a longer, more thrilling version of it.
