SSCoasters now has a sister site in the forum of The K'Nex Forum, a website dedicated to all things K'Nex outside of amusement rides.

For those of you that have been registered at SSCoasters before June of this year, you do not have to reregister. Instead, you can login with the same information as SSCoasters.

The only change that will come to SSC is that the Alternative Top Model contest will only be for Vertical Vengeance and CoasterDynamix models. Other K'Nex models will be featured in contests on the K'Nex Forum.

Really? Now I don't see why we need 2 website for projects and just can't add-on stuff like that here.

We as a staff felt that the best course would be to make a sister site. We do not want to disrupt the culture on this site that deeply revolves around roller coasters. We also expect the user bases of the two sites to differ pretty significantly as time goes on. The new site will also have new features that are not applicable to what this site is all about.

We do not expect everyone to agree with the decision, but we have tried to make it as easy as possible for the users of this site to visit the K'Nex Forum by keeping your usernames and login information.

It's a great addition, and I agree with BGT, when the masses discover knexforum.com it will grow rapidly. Mainly because people don't just build coasters, I'm trying to say that this site limits the options, knexforum relates to a much bigger group than just coaster enthusiasts.

It's just something we need to get used to, over time people will start moving back and forth between the sites and notice that there isn't anything to fear for. It's a sister site, not concurrence. SSC will stay what it is. Just that from now on, things other than coasters or themepark rides should be posted on knexforum.com I was in doubt at first too, but BGT got me "involved" with "setting up" the database and it change my opinion when I had to use my creative mind. knexforum.com is great for all those out there that do not just relate to coasters.

You guys, some of the guns we've got posted over there are fantastic. Best of the best, and they almost all have instructions associated with them. Great stuff.
