    Ripsaw

Hey guys, I will have some free time over my 5-week long winter break so I will be making a small Woodie to get those building urges out of my system.

I have not really decided on a layout yet so any suggestions are appreciated, all I have so far is the first drop. It looks a little lopsided but I figure once i finish the pull-up into the next element things should look a little better:

Perfect drop and nice wooden supports! I'm following this for sure.

Looks great, just don't forget the space for the gear, unless this is a magical woodie that just propels itself up the hill.

SuperTKD: Yeah... I am excited to be building, too.

    JP: Thanks man.

Lambchopz: It may just possibly be a magical woodie of that type.

Well I was in the zone for a little while and I got the turnaround basically finished except for final supports and a few more connections. I am pretty pleased with a shape but if you see anything let me know:

It has been a long time since there has been a good classic style woodie, with the blue rod base! Looks great.

It's nice to see such a classic wooden coaster being build. Could you try to support the outside of that turn a a bit more? That would look way better .

KCK: Thanks haha, I have a crap ton of blues...

maarten: Yeah I definitely will once I get this thing in its final position. As of now I may be moving it around the basement so we will see.

I am thinking of doing an airhill over the first drop's pullout now... if anyone has any other suggestions feel free to say them.

An air hill over the pull out sounds good to me. It would be nice to do a resebowl through the lift's supports after that hill !

    NO! NOT THE ROSEBOWL AGAIN!!!

But really, those kill speed more than zero-g-rolls.

It reminds me of RCT3 for some odd reason. From those angles it looks like it needs more banking on the latter half, but then again it might just be the camera angle.

YESSS This is Ballin'! But please can you post some overview pics???

    Re: Chubs New Woodie

Steel: Yeah I agree, I am going to try to get the layout a little more fluid.

Black: Thanks and yes I will.

Up next I am thinking a 90* banked turn parallel to the first drop. I will play around with a few ideas though. Feel free to state them.

    Enjoy and Comment.

Looks very good, some parts could be shapen a bit better but that isn't very noticeable. The helix through the lift fits just perfectly well in the lay out, keep it up !

I'm really glad to see such a classic Knex woodie with the blue rods. I haven't seen one for a while, because the current hype is the build them with granits. I really like how that turn is going straight through the lift's supports, great job!

    Re: Chubs New Woodie

Maarten: Yeah thanks. Hopefully the rest of the layout will flow as well.

    Helmut: Haha yeah, thank you.

    Marc: Thanks man.

Mike: Long time no talk (or build), thank you sir.

Well the 90* section is coming along well, I just need to mess around with the tubing because it is cut unevenly so thats why there is a gap between the two:

Looking good, just mess with the splice like you said and it'll be perfect. I like the wide assortment of turns.

Looks really good to me. I often have issues with tube splices too, it can be really annoying . What's next? something like this would be awesome!

    RCF: Thank you sir.

maarten: Yeah I think I will have another turning hill after this. Not really sure though.

  23. Re: Chubs New Woodie

I think you can try to smooth out that turn a little more. I think it would look better a little more rounded. Or atleast from the angle in ^that picture.

BK: Thanks, I may go back to it. Tell me if this angle looks better.

Looks smooth to me . Are you going back to the beginning with some bunny hops?
