I would love to see you recreate this. I just realized with that side view picture Skyrush doesn't look as close to I305 as I thought. Can't Wait! Looks perfect so far.

Looks awesome. Hope you can finish this. My only concern is if you will need a booster/fast chain lift on a hill.

    Re: Skyrush

I say make it another gray or two taller to get tons of speed throughou the layout. Support your track well!

    Re: Skyrush

If you do make it taller the curve is fine, just increase the height of the supports.
Edit: Sorry Maxwell, this thread will get to posty.

Thanks, and Skyrush does actually looks quite different than I305.

I was hesitant to officially say I was recreating it, simply because I knew what I was gonna get into, but I think it'll be a little easier than 305.

Same here, I really wanna do this without a boost.

I raised it by a yellow.

    Thanks guys!

Anyway, I continued building and this is what I finished with. I know the top of the crest before the last connection is a little flat, but it'll be better once the whole hill is done. I also included a completely pointless 1 car test video.

    EDIT:

I really need to know if this is good enough to move on.

    Re: Skyrush (half 2nd hill)

Looks great, but here's where you might have trouble.

The track comes close to itself lots of times so box supports could be a little difficult.
    Compare your hill to this.

I shall subscribe to this thread.

You might not want that box support right in the middle of the hill. The track below is going to go where that support is.

EDIT: V It wouldn't look as clean. He already took that support out anyways.

^ Make it go through the support? That would be cool.

    Re: Skyrush (half 2nd hill)

Hmm, shaping is perfect, but I'm a little bit worried about the height. From pictures you can tell that the first hill is about half of the height of the lift, and that's what you have right now. Assuming that you also have to place another hill beneath this one it looks a bit low, because there should be enough clearance and then the second hill would get very low. Rising the first hill a granite or two wouldn't be a problem I guess .

Ya I'd say the first hill is a little low as well

I think I'll be able to get a hill about 1 granite shorter than the 2nd, so the height should be fine. You can judge by these pictures.

Okay guys, this has been the most challenging part so far. The turn wasn't that bad, but the transition into the 3rd hill has been giving me a major headache. Tell me what you think.

Another completely pointless test vid with 1 car. The speed is so excessive I can't tell if extra cars make a difference, so I'll add them once 1 car doesn't make it through the layout. I know the speed will eventually die down.

That looks fine dude. The first pointless one car test actually made me laugh for a minute or two.

Re: Skyrush (turn + half 3rd hill)

I think you can pull this ride off seeing how you pulled off I305 i would try a fresh lubed train with the amount of cars you will be using (maybe a weighted one also) and see how your speed is then before you go on and maybe raise the first hill up more. i would also add as many supports to those turns and make sure NO part of it moves at all to keep as much speed as possible.
