Quick Winter Contest Update

Clock Nov 17 2016 08:04 PM Author BGTKing Comments 9 comments

For the Winter Contest this year, there are two possible categories to enter. Timing and other details will be released later.

Frozen
The predecessor to roller coasters were ice slides. In this category, you can only build incomplete circuit roller coasters with no inversions, but that still deliver a fun and exciting ride. Rides should have a icy theme of some sort.

Frosty the Snowman
In this category, you can build any type of roller coaster you want, but it must only contain loops for inversions (1 minimum) to be round like Frosty! It must also be themed with glorious amounts of snow (real or fake).

A big focus for this contest is creativity!

You say that it "can only contain loops". Are inclined loops allowed?

Also, new question: for the Frosty section, does the ride have to be named "Frosty the Snowman"?

Question regarding the Frozen section. When you say incomplete, do you mean the track cannot be a complete circuit and needs to have discontinuities? Or does it need to be set up where it needs to be manually reset each time?

If it's inclined enough it's probably okay since it's not an inversion.

Actually I might do Frosty, I think it would be fun to build a simple box supported ride again.

Any type of loop is allowed. Also does not need to be called Frosty. That is just a category name.

This just means the beginning should not connect to the end, which would need a manual reset.

For the Frozen category, can the roller coaster be a shuttle coaster, or no? Like, a Vekoma Boomerang for example (without inversions).

Yes, bit it must contain 1 loop.
