Barracuda is a hybrid wooden coaster, themed to your typical boardwalk woodie. The boardwalk also includes two (non-functional) flat rides: a 4-foot [URL="http://www.flatrides.com/Ride%20Index%20Pages/jungledrop.html"]Fabbri Drop Tower[/URL] and a 2-foot [URL="http://www.flatrides.com/Ride%20Index%20Pages/fallingstar.html"]Chance Falling Star[/URL].The layout starts with a straight but steep first drop, which leads into a 2.5 foot rosebowl. The rosebowl dives into a 2 foot airtime hill between the lift and the station. A curvy turnaround turns the train around as it flies past the station in the fly-by. A hill and a final turnaround follow, as the ride ends at the brakes and the train is brought into the station.I've been wanting to build a small woodie with a rosebowl for a while, and the opportunity came up after Poltergeist with the 2009 Woodie Buildoff. This is, I think, the third coaster that I've rebuilt from what I originally did (the other two being Devastator and Deluge). At first I had to work with the limited space I had since my bed was where Barracuda is now, until I moved it over to its current place leaving a lot more room than I had had... or so it seems. I almost cancelled it halfway through due to lack of inspiration but I decided to finish it. Mostly because of the station; I love that roof, and the station gates line up perfectly, so I will most likely keep using that simple floor in future coasters. Honestly, it turned out better than I had thought it would even though I sort of rushed the ending... but nobody knows that.
