What prices do or are you willing to pay for KNEX pieces? This includes Screamin Serpents, individual pieces (like track ties, cars, tubing, connectors, etc). Just curious what kind of deals (or no deals) you guys look at on the second hand market. It's interesting because that market is really the only one to obtain pieces on.

I generally buy from eBay. That's where all my standard pieces came from. I don't usually buy separate pieces, usually just sets. Also, I try not to spend more than 25-30 bucks for an SS. Sometimes I buy bulk lots. In all I've probably spendt about 250-300 dollars on K'nex. Not too much.

When I bought my classic coasters, and look at some, I generally don't like to go over 50$ shipping in for a set that size.

I did buy quite a few various parts during the construction of intricacy, mostly between 20-30$ purchases.

The best deal I ever got on knex was a complete BBF for 10$ free shipping.

With or without shipping?

Including shipping. Now I know it's really low, but it saved me a lot of money.

I don't intend on buying much more Knex anytime soon, maybe one of the new sets coming out it's good and maybe a Power Tower Crane if a good value comes (the only major set I'm missing). But typically... (all these assuming used with shipping)

SS < $40
RR < 25
SR, SM < 20
Big Ball Factory < 90 (Best set Knex has ever made, IMO)
Hyperspace Training Tower < 50
Trampoline Tower < 65
Power Tower Crane < 50
Original Roller Coaster < 25 (no demand, no need for those type of pieces)
Big Air Ball Factory < 15 (no demand, relatively low number of pieces)
Pinball < 15 (no demand, no point in having more than one unless board breaks)

With random lots or individual pieces, I'll usually look for about 3 cents per piece.

I only get individual pieces when I run out of them, and I try to buy pieces for the lowest price possible (I use eBay). I'm getting annoyed with used pieces though. I recently bought 1000 white rods and had to return them because they were yellowed and dirty... I'll probably buy white pieces new from now on to avoid that (which stinks because white connectors are the most expensive piece).

I got a Big Ball Factory for $35 on Craigslist. I wouldn't consider that normal. Normally $40 or less, including shipping for an SS, $30 for a RR.

SS €35 shipping included
RR €25
SR €10 no shipping (it's not worth it buying these on the internet really, unless they come with an SS or something)
BBF €55 shipping included

I know some of these prices are high, especially the SS's. But I don't care so much for the extra €5 that you could save. In the Netherlands you can just pick them out one by one, if you are willing to pay €30 for an SS.

I buy most of my K'nex in massive quantities since you can get parts much cheaper that way. I like to buy by the pound as well, for 1 pound of k'nex I will pay $2-3 ($2 ish for standard pieces and up to $3 if roller coaster pieces are included.) I've done several piece counts on random piles of knex I've purchased and it's roughly 200-300 random parts per pound. Which comes out to about 1-1.5 cents per piece. (let me know if any of you have different numbers for parts per pound?) Since I have so many pieces already I won't pay more then that for parts. Even paying such a low amount I've accumulated approximately 300 lbs of K'nex in the past 6 months.

I'm very cheap, so I try not to go above $25 for an SS or RR, $40-50 for a Big Ball Factory, or maybe $20 for a Shark Run or Storm Mountain. I'll often buy sets that are missing pieces, they typically go for a lot less and are a much better deal.

Since I'm not desperate for K'NEX, this are the prices I usually buy stuff for. I always buy on craigslist unless I need a specific part, then I'll buy on ebay or knex.com. Minneapolis is one of the city's in the US that has the most K'NEX on craigslist (I've checked lots of cities).

SS<$25
BFF<$30
RR<$15
Pinball<Don't buy, already own 1, it comes with mostly useless plastic chunks, not a lot of K'NEX pieces.
SM<$10
Corkscrew Canyon<Don't buy as mostly comes with useless plastic chunks, not a lot of K'NEX pieces.
SR<$10
BABF<$10 But don't buy cause comes with plastic chunks that take up lots of space.
Original Roller Coaster<$30

I've seen really cheap deals on Craigslist though. I got a $20 BBF once. I can easily get a SS every month or two for $20 if I need one. $20 for Original Roller Coaster.

I was buying SS for under $40 (including shipping). but lately they have been going for $50 - $55. I also would snag a
Storm Mountain for $25 (including Shipping). The pound lots I will not pay more than $4 per pound. depending on type of parts.

but for now I think I have more than enough parts (the white buckets shown account for about half of my Knex stash)

Ever since I spent way too much money on K'NEX (272,000 pieces though) I haven't bought any K'NEX and I have stopped my frenzy of buying SS sets online.

I never spend more than €40 on a Screamin' Serpent or Rippin' Rocket. I'm wondering why most of you guys are willing to pay more for a SS than a RR, because the RR includes more commonly used pieces. Is it because of the extra middle car?

Trains are valuable, also the standard/common colours. Yet I do occasionally buy a RR for the red track, yellow x-ties and a few misc. pieces.

4,000 green knex rods from the official knex website would cost 240 dollars.  2,000 white rods would cost 160 dollars.   I found out that I need 4,000 more green rods and 2,000, white rods for my pediatric prone stander project.   The two complete legs use 1,584 green rods and 400 white rods.  The footplate uses 165 white rods and 216 and 324 green rods.   I cannot afford to pay 400 dollars for for 6,000 rods.  Plus shipping.   is there anywhere i can get white and green rods for cheaper than the official knex website other than ebay or Craigslist?
