(If youtube embed ain't working https://www.youtube....h?v=ijPgnVivisg is the link)

I'm horrible and can't remember to upload things xD

I put in the order for the other 7 coils sunday from shapeways, should be getting here by this weekend so I can start wrapping the crapload of wire. I'm gonna have to get gloves, cause I had some wire burns just from doing one lol

Minor progress update - got the rest of the coil forms from shapeway - they even gave me a free one! Yay!

But three of them didn't print with my mounting holes so I'm waiting on three more to ship, which they're doing for free cause they're nice (then I'll drill out the bad three ones and have 11 coils for the price of 8 ;)

Spent a few days and wrapped the other 5, and all of them tested good for conductivity. I've run into a minor D'oh moment when I realized I never got any flyback diodes, so I can't safely drive the coils with the h-bridges until some arrive from digikey. Without flyback diodes, the inductance of the electromagnets could make a voltage spike that fries my FETs. Not the end of the world, flyback diodes are cheap.

Trying to work on some code for the controller, but right now I just have a single shot mode, and a double shot mode. Because of the weird cores I'm using for the electromagnets I might be able to get four "switches" into a single coil.

Awesome to see this is still going on! (Sorry for the bump but whatever...)

This is one of the reasons I still visit once in a while haha.

Looks like you're getting quite some power there! Now lets hope your controlling circuits work without too much trouble.

Greetings!

I feel like this is a thread that doesn't get enough appreciation sometimes. I only have a basic understanding of what's happening (electronics is not my strong point) but the detail regardless is above and beyond amazing for model building in general. And now there are 2 working concepts. Good times :D
