i made a little chart here to make money issues

easier to decide:

Coaster Designers
Income
-Sell Coasters
-Award Money
Costs
-Pay Salaries
-Buy Parts (building cost)

Parks
Income
-Hit Counter

(admissions)
-Award Money
Costs
-Pay for Land
-Buy Coasters

the "pay for land" cost would have to do with

how many coasters a park owns.

the "pay salaries" cost would

have to do with how many coasters were built between paydays.

------------------

(keep in mind that the numbers i come up with below are

completely open to reworking and such)

judging by coastercrazy's

rating guide i would guess the average coaster would be valued at around

$4,500 (correct me if you think that's wrong) and costing $3,600 for

the designer. with this we can go to starting money.

to make an average

coaster (in my experience) it would probably take around half a month to build, and so,

if we made the payday every first of the month, we can give the designers enough

money to make 2 average coasters in a month and then some. so the starting amount

would be something like $7,500 - 8,000.

for the parks we can give

them enough for 2 average coasters as well so we can make that something around

$9,000.

these numbers seem to be at least a good start...

------------------

coastercrazy10 - i was thinking that maybe we should

make the rating systems in such a way that a coaster valued at $5,000

doesn't always cost $4,000. maybe we could add some extra things to the

value rating scale that wouldn't be on the building cost scale?

i really dont understand what your saying. Call me

stupid but i would think that a coaster valued at $5000 would always cost

$4000 to build, unless we take into account it being a shuttle coaster, or a

wooden. But wouldnt that figure into everything...hmmm...i may have to update it

with costs for the TYPE of ride. I'll do some looking around on RCDB to see

which kind of coasters cost more than others...if thats what you mean of course.

crazy

i was just thinking that the building cost would just be

taking a rating based on the materials used while the value would be a rating based on

use of the materials. for example: a coaster that is well built, makes good use of the

materials, and is pleasing for others to see would have a high overall value. a coaster,

using the same materials, that was bumpy, misshapen, and not so pleasing to look at

would be valued at less, even though the materials cost the same. thats just my

reasoning.

^But the judges may be influenced by others or be

baised in their judging...

that is a problem.

maybe for every

coaster we could set up a poll and people from all over the web could vote on different

categories for that coaster. for each category there would be a scale from 1-10 and

results from each category would be multiplied by some number and added to the

value rating.

^But then theres stupid people, and people who will

do anything to ruin others score and boost thiers. I.e. going to every house in the

nieghborhood, voting AGAINST all of the rivals, then FOR themselves...

I

know it sounds stupid but hey it could happen.

this is pretty hard to work

out...hmmm...maybe we could have all people here who are not participate vote or

something..

crazy

that could work. we'd just let members on

these forums vote through PM or something to prevent multiple votes.

if

we do it that way the next thing is to decide the categories and how to use those

results with the rating system.

btw - tomorrow i start school again so i may

not be on as often
