Parkitect is a relatively new theme park/roller coaster management game being created by some independent developers.

This is a thread to discuss general aspects of the game.

I downloaded the game recently and will post some thoughts when I have a chance after work.

I've been playing the game recently and I think it's amazing! I couldn't get Planet Coaster because I think my computer isn't good enough, but I'm glad I got it. The only difference between this and RCT 3 ( I know most of the people who play it are from RCT 1 and 2, but some players like me did come from RCT3) that is a "downgrade" is the terrain editor, but I've had no problems with it. It can still make nice looking mountains, and it's so much easier to use than the RCT 3 terrain editor. Although I will say that I wish they made a terrain painter a little bit more like RCT 3, it's really hard to make nice transitions with just being able to paint on the grid. Otherwise I think it's amazing, and I'm excited to see what they add in the future.

I haven't had a chance to play much, but a couple impressions.

  1. The game is clearly modeled after RCT. So if you have played them in the past, it feels very familiar.
  2. I like how your shops need stock and they have to be stocked by an employee. Adds a bit of realism/more park management where you can run out of goods at your park.

At the moment the game feels very bland. Especially with the joy of Planetcoaster this doesn't feel as polished. Then again, I think the scenario's will be better than with Planet Coaster because of it's more simplistic approach.
