Hey, starting a Micro K'nex Hyper that will probably be my biggest project to date. I have been building for about a year and a half, but recently discovered this forum.

I plan on moving the coaster to my garage, where I'll have more space to build, but for now its in my living room, so sorry for the background. After the first drop, the trains easily clear the first airtime hill. Any tips/suggestions would be appreciated, and I will most likely have a better update tomorrow. Also, not sure on a name for the coaster yet, so any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hey, that looks pretty good! I don't remember the last micro hyper I've seen, so I'm super excited to see where this goes.

Nice! Wish I had space to build something like this!

You've got a good looking, sturdy support structure going on, however It doesn't seem to be contributing much shape and strength to the part that matters most - the actual track itself. Remember your suppports are only as strong as their weakest part - so make sure you reinforce and add more rod supports!

The shaping seems a little off too - I think you could do with extending the crest of the lift a little, beefing up the spine of the track and slotting in another big box support in there for good measure. Also, some of the pieces at the bottom are warping a bit - so add a bit to your base too.

If you need some inspiration, take a look at this video by another user from the site: https://m.youtube.co...h?v=Fdw36Ja0Jno

Essentially, that's more or less what you're aiming for! I also happen to regard that particular model as the greatest K'nex micro coaster ever built - so no pressure ;)

You've got all the beginnings of a fantastic coaster here! Keep it up! :)

So I might've gotten addicted to RCT3 in the last week and not posted an update for way too long, but here it is.

After day 1, I really wasn't super happy with the shaping on both the drop and first hill, so I rebuilt them from the ground up. I'm a LOT happier with this one, even though its not as steep. Next I added the overbanked turnaround and the following airtime hill. I also taped down the structure, as it was sliding on the concrete. The train easily clears the first hill, and slows down a good bit on the turnaround and succeeding hill.

For the next section, should I have a few large airtime hills, or a bunch of tiny, fast, bumps? Any and all criticisms/ advice is appreciated, thanks!
(Ignore my extremely messy garage)

Definitely. But up there with the best k'nex coasters in general.

Hard to tell from the sideways photos but it looks pretty good.

The drop is definitely shaped better now, but I think the top of the overbank is a little bit too banked.

I think some large airtime hills will be better, but you can always put in a few little ones towards the end.  Keep at it, this will be a great coaster.

Looks good so far, I would say add some diagonals to the base structure if you can, you'll reduce less shaking of the supports, and connect the bases of the overbank and the second hill too. It will say a little bit more speed for those elements. Can we see a test video btw??

The shaping looks pretty decent now. There's a little bulge near the top of the drop that, with the way you've supported it, wouldn't be hard to fix but good job othewise.
