Is This Considered A K'NEX Rollercoaster And Could It Be Scaled Up Easily?

     Hello sscoaster, I am The Maker, and I recently made a video of a K'NEX rollercoaster that I made that uses a Fushigi Gravity Ball instead of the standard K'NEX cars. I already added it to the Model database along with my K'NEX ball machine which also uses a Fushigi ball instead of the standard K'NEX balls. I understand that this does not seem like a coaster under construction, but It will be part of a larger coaster I am currently building of of this one. This coaster is a proof of concept, and I am trying to avail myself to your expertise. My question is, does this seem like an potential type of K'NEX coaster and should I continue to build my larger coaster? I also would like to know how you guys would scale this rollercoaster style up.

I'd say that this is a type of coaster, yes. A very creative type with lots of potential. Scaling this up... I don't know how big you'd be able to scale this. Most elements would be difficult to make... although this would be wonderful for some kind of futuristic 4D bobsled coaster, where riders are sitting in the ball and there are seats attached to an inner ball, and these seats would sometimes rock back and forth and even go upside down at some points, just like on a Zacpsin. 



I'm not done building yet.

What elements do you think would be the hardest? I am thinking about creating one with a loop. Do you think that would be possible?

Its definitely possible. You would need a good amount of speed to get the centripetal force you'd need. That means a taller lift. Banked turns would be pretty hard on that. not too much speed to fly over it, but not to little to fall of the turn to the inside of it.

CartRacer56, do you think that a vertical lift would be an efficient way to get the necessary speed?

It doesn't matter how you get it up there it just needs to get there. A vertical lift would use less pieces than an angled lift but the drop wouldn't change. It might be harder to keep the ball on the lift correctly but its a simple challenge that I'm sure has multiple solutions. Simple ones at that.

I'd be interested to see what elements the ball could traverse. Loops should certainly be possible, but imagine a corkscrew may be impossible.

You might be able to make a corkscrew that gives the ball a lot of upward momentum before hand. Sort of like a zero g roll.

You could probably do a corkscrew if it was more like stretched out the loop (as in it kind of turns back on itself), but I imagine a longer corkscrew or a heartline roll would be impossible. You could maybe cheat a little and have something hold the ball in from the side to hold it in through the element.

^He could definitely have something like that to keep the ball in place, but it would come at a cost of speed loss. Something similar to this has already been done, by Sorunome.
