I feel like a little bit of back story should go into this trip report before I actually talk about me entering the gates.

I don't remember when I found out about Cedar Point, I think it was around 2007 when I saw a commercial for Maverick somewhere, but ever since that day I had been itching to get up to the park. My parents told me that we would be going to Cedar Point in 2013 on our road trip, and when they did research they found it was too far away so we went to Six Flags Fiesta Texas instead. Come along to 2015, when I met my girlfriend, she was from Ohio, and she likes roller coasters, I had asked if she had been and she said she went all the time, even having gone to Geauga Lake before it had closed, as well as most of the Cedar Fair parks in the United States. She even said that she would take me one day.

I didn't believe her.

Well, it finally happened.

We went up to Ohio to see her brother's girlfriend graduate highschool and were fortunate enough to go to the park while we were up there.

Well, I wanna talk about the state of Ohio before I get to the park. Ohio is very interesting. The roads are cool, the barns are cool, there's a lot of charm (and construction :P) very different from Florida, and it was a very cool experience.

OK, so now for the park.

We arrived at the park at around 3:30 on Sunday the 21st and checked into the Hotel Breakers. My girlfriend and I found out there were Twilight tickets that are like $30 bucks that get you in after 4 PM. Well... $30 to get you into Cedar Point for 6 hours? Of course! So after some problems with our tickets we got into the park at around 5:15, and it was dead. She said that her favorite ride was Magnum so we decided to go and do that first, as my first ride at Cedar Point.

MAGNUM - Considering it is almost 30 years old, what a great ride. The first time I really didn't enjoy it very much, but we rode it again (stayed in the train because there was like 3 1/2 people in line) and the second time it was much more enjoyable. Airtime that is almost violent, you do get thrown around a lot, but it is amazing. I feel like if you had the B&M clamshell restraints instead of just the cylinders it would be a lot more comfortable. My new #9 coaster!

We then passed the Witches Wheel and went to Gemini

GEMINI - Having just gotten off Magnum I was expecting Gemini to be just as bad if not worse. Dear god this is one of the smoothest rides I have ever been on. It feels like you're floating. I also haven't been on a good racing coaster really EVER. So it was really exciting being able to high five the other riders you're racing against. Gemini wasn't really intense or anything but it was a whole lot of fun. The guy that was operating it really knew what he was doing, dispatches were fast, the trains almost always raced, it was awesome. My new #10 coaster!

From then we walked a little bit and we decided to go to Maverick. We gladly hopped in the 10 minute line :)

MAVERICK - Holy cow this thing is nuts. It was the first time I had been physically abused on a coaster and kinda enjoyed it. Being 6'3", the OTSR hurt me a lot (as did the other rides, this one wasn't as bad) and I feel like i would have enjoyed it more if there were something else there instead of what they had. Don't get me wrong I still found this ride to be super exhilarating and exciting, just slightly painful. My new #3 coaster!

There weren't many ride-able rides between Maverick and Millennium Force, as it was cold so all of the water attractions were shut down, so we walked to Millennium Force and got in the line, which was just poking out of the station.

MILLENNIUM FORCE - I had told myself that I wasn't going to think to highly of this ride going into it because I didn't want to be disappointed, like many people have. But I gotta say, it deserves all of the praise and attention it receives. Its so nice having just a lap bar, and being exposed like that, soaring 93 MPH past Lake Erie. The ride is not Millennium Forceless as many say, because I grayed out on the first over-bank and the turn after it, all the way until the first hill. This ride is so awesome I got on 2 more times by going through the gate and the end of the offload platform. My new #1 coaster! This ride is awesome!

After this we went to Rougarou because it was right there.

ROUGAROU - I was extremely underwhelmed with this ride, having ridden Kraken and Superman, it was kinda just Meh, and wasn't all that spectacular. There's not much else to say about it.

We then walked to Iron Dragon, the park's Arrow Invert.

IRON DRAGON - This ride was also kinda meh. There was no line so we rode in the back of the train with two small girls up in the front. It wasn't the most comfortable experience. Although I did ride again later in the trip, towards the front of the train (I think 2nd car?) and it was a lot more enjoyable.

And this is when it started to rain. We were hungry so we decided to eat some food (well, what else would you eat) so we ate at a restaurant near Raptor (I'm not sure what it was called) we had Nachos, and chicken wings, and both were extremely good. So we finished eating and left the building to check on the weather situation. It had actually stopped raining, so we decided to go on the parks newest coaster, Valravn.

VALRAVN - Alight Valravn fanboys, prepare to get upset (are there even any?) this ride is extremely pointless and kinda underwhelming in all aspects. A flying coaster or even something else would have been a better choice. The one part of the ride I enjoyed was the roll after the dive-loop. It was a weird sensation, but overall pretty interesting. Sheikra is better, and I'm sure Griffon is too.

chopping it here even though there is a whole lot more but im really lazy an ive been typing for an hour. This is only like 3 hours worth of park and i will have more up tomorrow afternoon probably.

Sounds great so far! I definitely think that Gemini is a sort of "Hidden Gem" within Cedar Point. The thing actually has decent airtime and is as smooth as many B&M's. Can't wait to read the rest!

I disagree about Ohio. It is a boring as heck drive. Kentucky and Tennessee are much better on I-75. It was the bane of the drive when I lived in Michigan.

Ah, the joys of Cedar Point. Maybe one day I'll get there but I doubt many of the coasters that are there now would still be there. Sounds like a decent time was had especially since it was empty and pretty good value for that many rides.

I'm very jealous of your short queue times! I think we waited longer than you and we had fast passes! Still by far my favourite park though :P
