Hello Guys! (and sorry for the sideways pictures)

Today I have just finished a working prototype of a new kind of K'nex Support system, Tripod Supports! They work similarly to tube supports except:

1. No Support Base is needed!

2. It will save you tens of thousands of pieces! (Less than 10 K'nex pieces are needed per support!)

3. Easy to adjust as you are building!

4. Less shaking than a tube support!

To make this support, I 3-D printed a cylinder with a screw indent that matches the tripods. Then, I hot glued a 8-way connector to the cylinder.

Then, I made a miniature tube support to attach to the coaster piece.

Now your done! You can also easily do complex maneuvers like inversions with these supports as well.

I should be going to a flea market tomorrow where they sell ten foot tripods for $5, so wish me luck!

Please Comment!

Neat idea. I imagine that all those tripods would get quite cluttered though.

I'm loving this idea! Plus it would save time with building big tubes. It would look weird, but I think it would work... but the weird looks you'd get from buying 30 tripods at once would be worth it.

I'm not done building yet.
