Seems like I forgot to start a topic on this build... Well then!

 

Here's what I've built over the past few weeks:

Between those two dates I've increased the distance between the loop and the spike. In order to make sure this replica can be as accurate as possible, I want to replicate everything on the actual ride. Right down to the supports, station and color scheme (with some exceptions).

 

I would also want to try to utilize a weight drop system for the launch. I know the actual ride doesn't use that system, but I think it would be cool just to experiment with something like this!

 

Any help and suggestions are welcomed.

Your supports around the loop look nice. However, think the loop is too circular. Try to make it more teardrop shaped. Here is a picture of what shuttle loop coasters look like.

Montezooma is fun ride, I'm glad to see it getting some love. Like ^he said, the loop is a little too circular at the bottom. The supports for it look quite good though! And it looks like you've got nice guide for the cable launch already. Actually, my first model on SSC had a weight drop launch, but I don't think I got it to work. I hope you do!

Update time! Since my first post here, I've finished the spike and made the loop less circular. I've modified the runway a little more so it's much more robust and sturdy.

 

I'm also working on side friction brakes for the station. I don't have a picture of it yet, but on my next post I will provide one.

Loop looks fantastic!  Love the supports as well, very clean.  Looking forward to seeing it run!
