I made a switch that the cars hit to turn on a battery pack motor. The motor shuts off after one revolution.

^Blue spacers go on the left side of the battery pack

By adding some gears, you can make it do a little more than two revolutions before shutting off.

Very innovative. But what would it do?

Deazncy was wanting something to turn on fire effects on his coaster (x2). So I made this tut mostly for that. I don't really know what else, but you never know who could use it for what reason.

I wonder if someone can elaborate on this and make a reversing chain run. Then you could have backwards sections like Trog and Expedition Everest. Or something like Revolution at Blackpool. Other than that, I don't know.

i suppose it could be used for a launch? Once it hits the trigger it shoots. Could someone figure a trigger out for VV?

What? Signature? THE EDSTER:confused:

If you made a drill launch you could plug the drill into a power strip. Then just tape the trigger for the drill down. The cars hit the switch for the battery powered motor which turns on the power strip which turns on the drill.
I am actually working on something like that for Steel Venom.

That might break the chain dog off, but I still like the idea.

Pretty sweet, how much friction does the switch have when a train goes over it?

The cars don't lose too much speed, but the switch does hit every car. I just realized If you put a black clip on the end of the switch instead of the small black rod, it makes less friction.

does the spinning arm that turns it off pass the car switch arm or does it have to be reset every time?also could you post a video? i think i know how it works, but it kinda confusing

The spinning arm comes around and hits the switch back to off. It does not need to be reset. A video wouldn't really show anything more and I took it apart already. Just tell me if you have any more trouble with it.

Would you like me to make a detailed tutorial of it for you? Its realy good and it would mean you could make a train leave a station when another train reaches a certain point on the track.

If you want to you sure can. If you do put a black clip piece on the top of the switch instead of the black rod. Also if anybody else makes this use a motor with the switch that moves easiest. Some motors switchs move harder than others.

Please don't bump dead threads again. You will lose respect quite quickly.

By the way, the arm that turns the motor off may do a full revolution, but the rod that comes out of the side of the motor doesn't complete a revolution before it stops.

^^ Your post was okay this time as you were asking a good question. I do not have one of those motors, so I can't make a switch. I might make a switch for a shuttle coaster, but it won't be for a while.
^I was aware of that. There really isn't a way to fix it that I know of. That's why I made another modified one that can do aprox. 2 revolutions.

I made the single-revolution switch; would you mind terribly if I uploaded instructions for it?
