These day k'nex roller coasters keep on getting better and better and the most realistic kind of coaster you can make is with tube supports. This tutorial will show you how to make tube supports, bases for the supports, and how to connect them sideways.

1.the tube support.

Posted Image

When making a tube support try to have the black connectors not all line up doing so will creat a week spot.

2.The base.

Posted Image

This is the base that Gump made up for Speed O Fear.It is very strong.

3.connecting the supports sideways.

Posted Image

Most coasters today dont have the supports angeled out at a 45* angel. This is how I do it but I'm shore there is other ways.

4.The base for the sideways support.

Posted Image

I dont know if this is the best way to do it but it worked for me.

I hope this helps some people understand tube supports more.If anyone wants to add on to this be my guest.

Thats nothing like gumps. I suggest studying them more if you want them to be stronger.

There are many, many different ways to make tube supports. A massive tutorial would be required to tell all the different ways to do tube supports. Personally, I hate tutorials for stuff like this (nothing personal) because then all the noobs want to try making 10ft. recreations with tube supports and crazy stuff like that.

I will add on also. My way is slightly different then everyone else's of course. So you will experience the RCT2123 way. My best advice for tube supports would be the connections. there really is no basic system when it comes to this, you just need to experiment with what is strongest. I suggest not following the usual connections of k'nex, you need to stress and bend things to make them work best...

Here is my contribution...

Here are the realistic box supports...

To emphasize my point of stressing pieces...

Posted Image

Posted Image

Close ups of my tube to tube / tube to track connections...

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

My kick ass same footer supports. This emphasizes the random connections I mentioned...

Posted Image

Posted Image

This is what some of you may have missed. I do not use the snowflake connectors because I have like none of them. Instead I just use the blue 3D connector. It's basically just as strong, and uses the basically useless 3D connectors. You will see the other purple/grey 3D's in random places...

This pic is courtesy of KCB Designs. My very strong single single low footer...

I can never make the tubing supports like... attach to the rollercoaster track strong enough becuase the roller coaster goes side to side. Well here's some pics.
