XYZ is taken down just a few days ago and right after that a free-fall tower was built (One Second Fear).
And now the first inverted roller coaster by Knexprojects is being made. Don't expect it to be WOOHOO, since this is just the first one.
Lay-out hasn't been decided yet, but what I have now...:
The piece of track between the station and the 1st booster (yeah, it's a launched inverted coaster), the 1st booster, the big 180 turn and then the 2nd booster.
Next element will probably be a tophat-thing (the TTD one w/o the big twist).
Also, I use the inverted cars made by CC10, but they're pretty heavy, so I don't know if I'll be using them.

Cool! the only thing i know about inverts are

that if you intendo to have a lift hill, those are hard to do right. Hope you can think up a

layout soon.

Sorry guys, I don't have time and I don't really want to build the coaster. If I continued, it would become a boring coaster, so I cancel it. (There weren't many interested people, so it doesn't really matter.)
I think I'll take a break and wait a few weeks before building the next one...will be a Fishhook Coaster, I'm trying to get it 12 meters high, and that's 40 feet...

Good luck with that. That would be hard to build a 40

foot fish hook with just knex but if you are using something else to support it, well, that

is ok I suppose but I am sick of fish hooks.

I got 62' chain... and I'm thinking of a triangle structure for the spike.
But first I gotta break down One Second Fear and the unfinished inverted coaster.

A 62 foot chain will only get you 31 feet. Are you

planning on having the chain start 10 feet off the ground?

Good luck with the inverted(if you're still doing it

that is), most of them dont work unless you make the original lift hill at least 2x higher

than the first hill. Mine failed every time I tried.

^Lol thanks

and 40 feet is pretty

monsterous. Good luck. You'd hold the record

BTW westside,

you'd need more than 62' of chain to get 31 feet, becuase of the chain

going around the gears. :P it doesnt really matter,

just pointing out a mistake :D

crazy

Yeah. . . like 90' of chain would probably be

a safe bet. Might overlap a little, but not too bad.

The chain will start about 5 feet above the ground. Also, I bet you know, that the end of the chain isn't the end of the track.
Supports, I'm gonna use supports that look like the one's of Mr Freeze's. A bit different, because I don't have enough blue/purple connectors for 40 feet.
Maybe I'll modify the train to a 4D-train. Then I'll try to put a battery motor in the train and let that rotate the seats (Unfortunately they spin around in one way).
BTW, does someone know how tall the tallest inversion or tallest loop is?

Edit: could someone edit this topic title to "Bigfoot (40 feet coaster)". Or do I have to make a new topic?

**topic title changed**

Starting 5 feet off

the ground with 62 feet of chain means you can only go 36 feet tall. 4-D cars would

be very heavy making you need extra sturdy supports. If you added a motor, well, at

least I won't be standing under it.

Thnx.
I'm not really sure yet about where I start the lift. First I need to clean up my room... I cannot work here anymore, not in this mess.
I'm not sure about those 4-D cars yet. It'll take some time before construction begins and even then it won't be decided yet.
I took a look at Polar Plunge and Scorpion (that one of 24') and calculated how tall my inversion could be if the whole coaster would be 40'... It could be 19', but 17' is planned right now.

None of the fish hooks that have been built are even

real fish hooks. The original fish hook plan for the Stratosphere did not include an

inversion. The spike was barely beyond vertical; maybe 110 degrees.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE:

I haven't removed all knex yet, but construction has begun. It is now 1 foot tall :P .
Downstairs, I've measured how long 40 feet is... and I was kinda shocked. It is almost as high as our house...
Well, I'm constructing again, bye.

I uploaded some construction pics. Right behind the supports, you'll see the (not yet broken down) supports of the inverted coaster I was building. And behind that, you'll see a piece of One Second Fear.

EDIT:
There seemed to be problems... I uploaded pictures to the SSCoasters Gallery of Bigfoot.

ok...first I uploaded them to the forums, but then remembered some members can't view attachments. then I uploaded them to picjar... but somehow they didn't show up. then I uploaded them to the gallery, but that's also wrong...
there seems to be nothing else to upload them to

my own site

EDIT
The construction pictures got lost over the years.
