As great as Oasis is, I just feel that Sawdust would be harder to make.

Not too hard for me. Sawdust is way better in my opinion, but that might just be me. It's not a bad coaster, not at all, but I think Oasis shouldn't have reached this round.

^ Oasis was easily the best coaster from it's time region. It completely deserves to be here. A more fair way would be to say that the evolution of building between 2003 and 2006 is very clear in this contest.

I just like the amount of effort that was put into this certain coaster I'm voting for. I love evry small detail put into it. My vote goes to Sawdust.

I can definitely see why Oasis is so popular but Sawdust was one of the coasters that inspired me to start building.

Just remember, you can't judge the difficulty of a build in different times in today's time. The techniques everyone copies, the availability of pieces, etc simply weren't inspired yet.

True, that's probably a better way to put it. Still, time does change so the best coasters simply aren't from 2003 anymore. It was good for its time really, but now coasters are just a bit better. Hey, it's only my opinion, not that everybody should share my opinion.

^ It's simply the way we wanted to do the contest this year. It's never gotten further than the Sweet Sixteen in the past when it was "random".

Whoever mentioned that Sawdust was more detailed obviously hasn't a clue about Oasis' layout iteration when Hendrix built the amusement park to go with it. Oasis not only had a detailed station, but a full queue, maintenance stairs on the mid course brakes, a transfer track, and a successful multiple train operation. CF11 was constantly making changes and upgrades to Oasis over his years on the website and might still be if it's still standing.

..... what just happened. Did Oasis really just loose, and that badly! Not that either coaster is bad, but I'm a little shocked and sad to see such an amazing coaster loose that badly.

Don't get me wrong, Sawdust is great, but lacked originality in my mind; Oasis had so much time and effort put into the coaster and the theming that went with it. Better luck next time I guess.
