Me and my family are going out to California and i convinced my parents to allot two days for Magic Mountain. With that being said, Ive never been there and have no idea what to expect for lines. I know that Tatsu and X2 seem to have longer lines but what others fall in that category? We will also be arriving before the park opens so what should be our first ride of each day? We do plan on riding all thrilling or at least moderately thrilling rides regardless of the reviews posted about each.

Thanks,
-AsM

Exact same thing happened to me two years ago, convinced my parents to let me go to SFMM for 2 days. Luckily I was able to meet up with Steelspectrum (a SFMM native). Depending on the day, Tatsu, X2, and Superman are guaranteed to have long lines. I would suggest going to Tatsu first, than Superman. There is a HUGE shortcut to get to Tatsu as the park opens. Quoting from a different site:

^That map doesn't show it very well. Basically, when you are walking toward Revolution (you have already passed Orient Express and the Grand Carousel, and took a right at the fork), just before you reach the entrance (the ramp next to a drinking fountain), there will be a sign for the Flash Pass entrance on the right. Walk up this path (which goes under Revolution's brake run), and you will be at the exit to Revolution. From here, there is a set of stairs. Climb those stairs, turn right, and follow the walkway to Rapids Camp Crossing.

If you are going to Tatsu first (recommended), this is about 15% quicker than walking toward Panda Express and climbing those steps (and much faster than going all the way by Viper). The map makes it look shorter than it actually is, but you will still beat everyone who is bypassing Tatsu and heading for X2 by a minute or two (which is all that really matters).

As it says, the shortcut doesn't look very big in that photo, but it is a VERY large shortcut. Me and Ryan (Steelspectrum) were able to stop in guest services to get ERT passes for Deja Vu (when it was there), then go to Tatsu using the shortcut and get 1 full ride on it before others started to arrive.

Ride all the rides, they are lots of fun! The flume (whichever one isn't gone) is very fun and refreshing on a hot day. X2's line usually dies down during a certain time of the day, so keep a eye on that:)

Thanks for the advice on the shortcut! ill make sure to take that to get an early ride on Tatsu! Also what are your opinions on Full Throttle and Lex Luthor and if their lines will be long? If everything goes as planned, Full Throttle should be open when we go

^ Lex Luthor's line is pretty long, so you should be there early. It's a really good ride!

The signature you have requested is not available at the moment. We apologize for the inconvenience.

I guess it might be smart to start at Full throttle then head to Tatsu then head over to Superman and Lex Luthor and im sure by that time most lines will already be longer anyway. Do you think that shortcut to Tatsu will also save time if im trying to get to Full Throttle?

From my limited experience there, if you're going at opening go for X2 right away. Most of the other rides are "old" and aren't as popular. Also, they really push you to have a discover card when you're there because you get extra cash back in the park and can get in a faster line to get into the park. Basically you should just look for short lines. Have fun, good luck getting them all!
