So is the Fast Lane (or Fast Lane Plus) worth it for $80/$95 at Cedar Point this Saturday. Kurt (Geartooth) and I are trying to decide.

Last year when we went it was packed and didn't get but 9 rides in.

I've made use of a fastlane pass before, and it's only worth it when you are desperate to do certain rides. Not sure if you have to pre-order a fastlane pass or can buy one it the park itself or at the gates. I've used it once because it was a one day trip and we wanted to do as much as possible. Depending on how they are sold it's worth checking them out. Then again that park sold them inside the gates, so we when we noticed it getting crowded we bought one.

You can buy them ahead of time or at the gate. CP is offering a deal for $29.99 tickets tomorrow instead of the usual $40+ something.

They didn't appear to give too much of an advantage earlier this month, because there were even small lines for fast lane users, but that was on a weekday. I feel like they might give you a much larger advantage on a Saturday, although I'm not positive.

Being that it will be one of the busiest days of the summer, if your going to get a fast pass for a day in the summer, that would be it. Everyone's off work, kids don't have school, and its cheaper than usual. I would ask Old_Hag, I'm sure he can let you know if it would be worth it.

We went ahead and decided to do Fast Lane. Only trip there this year (and probably only one to an amusement park for me this year) and want to do a lot of rides. We'll let you guys know how it goes.

Warning: A lot of ramblings here:

I am going to CP for my first time on Sunday August 3rd. My original plan for vacation was to go out there on a Tuesday, but since I'm making the trip with my girlfriend and her sister is flying in from NJ to join us, we HAD to change it to Sunday. I am not happy about this.

We are staying at the Breakers Saturday and Sunday night and taking advantage of the discounted gate prices ($39) and the 1 hour early entrance.

Looking at the website a fast pass is $80!? Is that on top of the normal $60 ticket (=$140) or is it a $20 added fee? They also show an ever higher price ($140!!!!) to skip THAT line (FFS is it even worth going?).

This will probably be the only time I get out to CP, as I'm from Minnesota and the way my life has worked out I've managed one other vacation in over 20+ years of being a working stiff...

If lines are really so bad that you have to spend $140 to enjoy the park, what coasters should I focus on? I've only been to CP's sister (daughter?) park, Valleyfair, so I can skip Corkscrew (which VF should demolish, it's not that fun) and Wicked Twister (VF has a a 4' smaller version). My original thought was try to get in 3 coasters during the early hour and try to hit the rest of them throughout the day, skipping all the flatland rides.

A Sunday SHOULD be mostly do-able without a Fast Lane. Also, the prices for a Fast Lane depend on the day of the week and number of your party (help balance supply vs demand), but the price you see is that of JUST the Fast Lane pass. And the Fast Lane Plus doesn't skip the Fast Lane line, it's just another upcharge for the most popular coasters.

My general feeling about any fast pass system is to only buy it if your visit will be a one day, one visit trip. For your situation, I would definitely consider it.

As for that hour early entry, if you start at the Magnum/Hotel entrance, you can definitely hit Maverick and Millennium Force, then be in line for Dragster at just as the park is opening. That's two of the big rides down and in line early for a third.

I think it is worth it if you don't get to go on vacations that much. Spoil yourself, man. It is an additional $80, but finding discounts on the regular tickets shouldn't be too difficult.

This is a hard oneI usually say get fast lane like passes if you have not been before and it is either a large park (when I went to SFMM) or is a decently large park and is a weekend (when I went to SFGA).

Considering that you have the ability to go every year, I would not get fast lane passes.

Looks like we might extend our vacation a day. Since the cost off one fast pass is the same as 2 discounted normal tickets we will go Monday for at least half a day if I'm not satisfied with Sundays excursion.

My 1 2/3 day at CP behind me I would definitively recommend the Fast Pass if you are there for one day. Sunday, the first day, lines weren't bad (over 30 min) until the early afternoon whereas Monday it was in the hour range shortly after main gates opened.

Should I ever go again, or to any other park that does the fast pass, I am saving extra for it.
