because his mom wouldn't let anybody ride it when it was complete. He also is
a member on these forums but is inactive anymore. I think he called his ride
Arachnid.

(More like a replica of Oblivion)

I have no idea how to make
those freefall or halfpipe rides. Why not just make a B&M dive machine that

halfpipe would be hard but not a dive machine?!?!

and any state/county/parental restrictions. But at least tell us what space your working
in, and if you think you can pay for it.
Step one of engineering is finding an
idea. You already have some. Step two is testing for feasibility. That is what you need
to do (or mabey you already did, but I need to know in order to make a decision).

agree. I still think a halfpipe would be the best one to build.

Here's a link to my favorite backyard ride, the Blue Flash. I'm
planning on building my own backyard coaster once I have my own house (in ten
years or so). It just all depends on how much a steel or wooden ride would cost.
Jeremy Reid's cost some five grand, while I think the Blue Flash was made with
scrap metal, costing under a grand. Just have to have my dad and brother help me
with the welding.
As for yours, a half pipe would be cool, but how are you
gonna make it work? Is there gonna be motors with tires pushing it along, like a
swinging ship, or is there gonna be a chain lift of sorts. Freefall rides could get
complicated too. Just let us know what you're thinking about building them, other
then using wood for construction. Permits will be needed if the ride gets too big or tall
as well.
This sounds cool. I'm rooting for ya.
