G'day guys,

I can't remember if I've joined SSC in the past but used to check out the creations ever since this site was launched. In 2003 while visiting LA I bought 2 Screamin' Serpent sets & when I got home built this model of TTD. I originally used a bunch of rubber bands to launch the train but wanted something more realistic. My other hobby is RC model helicopters & planes. So I used the RC power system from one of my powered gliders to launch the train & it worked better than I expected!

Took a whole bunch of footage but never got around to editing & uploading it until just now!! Thought I'd share it with you guys.

Cheers, Kev.

Very shaky, but not bad for only two SS sets.

You did all that with only 2 SS sets? Not bad.

I need a motor like that!!! What kind is it, and where did you get it? The coaster looks great for the limited supplies you had to work with.

It's a great first coaster for sure. Impressive work with the limited supplies.

That is one crude braking system, but hey, it works! It looks like it may take awhile to reset the launch as I don't really see a way you get the cable to unwind , looks like a lot of manual work is needed in setting / reseting the launch. But it's cool, that pov is one of the best I've seen for knex coasters (The one in real time)
