I'm working on a Dual "Screamin Serpent Inspired" coaster. It's our first "custom coaster". I've got the track mostly complete to were I'm fairly happy with it, but I'm having lots of trouble with the lift hill.

We started with a single "Screamin Serpent" stock layout, then added the second track, then increased the starting height of the hill to try to gain speed to make it all the way through, since it was having trouble. Then found out about the car lubrication, which helped hugely.

Anyway, we can't seem to get the cars to successfully make it up the hill. The motors just seem to stall out. I have 1 working SS motor, 1 SS motor that I think I burned out trying to make this work (it squeals horribly and turns much slower), and one plug-in 12V motor that went with the original Big Ball Factory set. Based on reading through the forum, I have 2 "All Terrain Trekker" motors coming, was hoping those would be powerful enough.

We tried to duplicate the basic SS lift motor design, but it keeps getting stuck and/or stalled out when the cars are on the hill. The motor would just "click" and spin around the rod through it, without turning the rod. Is there a better design to drive these lift hills? I tried using the 12V motor to drive both hills, but it didn't seem to have enough power either. Has anyone had success with a similar dual-lift hill layout?

Any suggestions?

I was going to try to post pictures, but how?

Run multiple motors simontenuoualy or gear it down, or both. Are you trying to power both lifts off of one setup, or individually?

I was trying to run both off one setup, but it may just be too much resistance. I tried the two SS motors (the transparent case attached the red battery pack) together using a single drive system, but I think one of them burnt out, so that could have been causing me trouble also. I'm open to either running them together or separately. If it's more likely to have success with two separate motors independently, I can try that and see how it works.
