I am hoping to go with a friend this year, although I have not asked him yet.

I'm sure Chubs will be going, because he recently moved to Orlando.

Indeed I will! Strongly suggest it to anyone who is even remotely interested in pursuing the amusement industry as a profession.

Though I am not attending, I would love to go to one in the future.

This year Lex & I will probably do a trip report for the blog since I do plan on being there as much as possible. It really is a cool event and although it is indeed a huge networking event, it is also a great place to just walk around and have some fun. I was surprised by the latter, but there are tons of new technologies being presented, a lot of bounce houses, and a couple of full-on rides, too.

Hey, just wanted to bump this to see if anyone else is planning on attending IAAPA.

Also, I know a few of you guys are going to the F24 conference in San Diego. Unfortunately I won't be able to get out there, but I would love to hear how it is.

I'm still planning on trying to make it up there and see whats goin' on.

Do you need to register if you're just a visitor who is not planning on having a booth? I was looking at this site: Registration and the registration fees look super expensive for visitors, and I thought "well, that can't be right".

It is definitely confusing. I had the same issues last year, but I eventually just registered as a student. I know that there has been a Friday special in past years that is only about $35 for the day and I do not think it requires any other fees. Shoot them an e-mail and ask if that is still an option because I agree, it often phases people out because of the steep registration fees.

I bought a student membership and registered mid August, $50 for the membership and $119 for the ticket, not too expensive. Plus I got a hotel just down the street for pretty cheap through the IAAPA site. If anyone needs a place to stay message me.

The F24 conference started today - is anyone else from SSC here? The meetings have been pretty interesting so far, and I've met some really cool people. Last night I had dinner with some people from Ohio State, a guy from Premier, and some young people from Universal Creative. There's only about 12 students here, and over 200 industry professionals, which means the networking odds are most definitely in our favor.
