I'm in an Amusement Park Engineering & Design club at my college (CalPoly). The club president (a good friend of mine, and coincidentally, Rollerdude as well) asked if I could build a K'Nex model to help promote our club during WOW week. Yay! Oh, and it has to fit inside a 2x2 foot area, with a height limitation of 3 feet. Not yay.
So I'm building the world's smallest Huss Condor, since that's my favorite flat ride to build. And I need to finish it by....tomorrow.
The winch for lifting and lowering the carriage is inside the hub. Also, the entire tower will rotate to keep things simple.
The carriage slides up & down the tower like this:
I'm planning to use string to power and control the spinning, so I can keep the motors in the base where there's more room. No more time to explain - gotta get back to building!

The showcase was 10 days ago, but I didn't get a chance to take any video. I was too busy telling people about our club. Here's our booth (below). You can see Baby Condor on the left, and on the right is my friend's aluminum drop tower that's still under construction.
The ride ran for 3 hours on the NXT's battery power (I have the rechargeable lithium-ion one), which really surprised me. It seemed to attract a lot of attention to our booth, and I had a lot of people ask me about it, which was really fun. Also, I now have access to some nice filming equipment (thanks to my job), so I'll be making an artsy video within the next few weeks.

Wow that's so cool, I would like some nice filming equipment as well
So did you changed the program afterwards?
Good luck with the video

Honestly, everyone knows how I build. I couldn't finish that in two years. Impressive scaling!
