Covid has brought quite some interesting changes to the world. However, not only negative.
Personally I am studying a masters at the TU Delft and will start graduating in structural engineering and hydraulic structures soon. The past years I spent a lot of time at school, studying in the library and generally enjoying life. However, once COVID found it's way to the Netherlands, we were forced to start working from home. While significantly different, I managed to find a way to work at home that works (I struggled to find the right way in the first months).
A couple of weeks ago I noticed that I had more spare time on my hands, as I did not have to travel to my university anymore. This gave me the idea to start building a coaster once again. The hobby of building rollercoasters always did attract me in the past few years, however, due to the little spare time I decided to do different things. A rollercoaster in a small room with slow construction time would not work for me, that's the main reason why I didn't k'nex for such a long time.
I now made the decision to make a rollercoaster. A small woodie with some basic decorations and a very nice looking strip of lights along the whole track. This creates a very nice atmosphere in the room. Construction as a lot of fun! It gave back a lot of memories and reminded my how relaxing creating a rollercoaster in your own room can be. I really enjoyed building it!
It is certaintly not my most smooth rollercoaster as it was built rather fast, but I think it looks nice anyhow.
Made a short "quick-and-dirty" edit and uploaded it to youtube, check it out below!
(Btw, if you're interested, on my channel there are also 2 video's of Toverland and Europa-Park)
Hope hearing from some of the old members.
