Hey coaster fanatics! I want you to picture this: a very sturdy track system that does not need very much support. Essentially it's a tube supported track where you would have to bend the tubes. If this is already been done and I've missed it I apologize. But this could be used on a very large hypercoaster or giga coaster or a coaster of enormous scale where you really need that rigid support.
Let me know your thoughts!
Ha ha well I'm glad that I put that little blurb in there about if this has already been done. Thank you SCM! I thought it was a little bit too easy to have stumbled upon such a great invention.

You can check out my models (Griffin and Ascension), I built a backbone similar to yours but I conected the blue connectors of the backbone to the green rods in the crossties with the small black connectors. I recommend using grey rods in the track itself as well instead of the green ones. You really want to keep an eye on consistent overlap of the grey rods otherwise the track is difficult to get smooth.
However, this building style is not new I believe models have been built like that for quite some time.
Good luck!

I've seen it before, but it's never a bad thing to bring it up again!

Cool, But I don't really get how it will work, it's way too wide for the K'nex trains isn't it? And will you not use the classic crossties at all?

i'm gonna use custom cars, as to use the regular assemblies would be way off scale, and no, i won't be using the classic crossties for anything other than supportwork

Oh so It's for the Custom cars you're working on, that's dope. are the rails rigid enough?

the center one has some extra bracing, all of the ties will have that, so yuh, it can hold about 17 kilos of force before snapping, i'll be making the cars for many track guages, mainly the standard tie and red micros
