I have begun construction on a new inverted coaster. I

decided to put this here and not in construction b/c I won't have pic updates for

a while. This new inverted coaster will have trains of three cars with one row of two

passengers per car. Each train will carry six passengers. The lift hill will be about

eight grey rods tall. The trains climb the lift hill at a sixty-five degree angle. That is

about as steep as this slash mark: /
The coaster is unnamed and the complete

layout is unknown...Suggestsions are welcome.

The lift hill is, for the most part, completed. I may have

to add some extra supports later. The station is completed, also. I haven't

decided wether I should build from start to finish or if I should build backwards.

Which way do you think works best?

Well, if you want it to work then I would suggest

going forward, cuz I personally dont see why you should need to build it backwards.

To me, it makes no since! :D

Well, if you build backwards, you can make sure after

each element it will make it through the course.

I think you meant forwards... I dont see how you can

figure out how it works by building backwards...

When you build backwards, you from the station back.

So, I would build the station, then the last element and see if the train makes it to the

station. Then I build the 2nd to the last element and see if the train makes it through

the 2nd to the last & last elements to the station. That way, I can figure out if the

train will make it to the station after building each element. It really doesn't

matter. I just heard that some people do it backwards and I wanted to try it. So far, I

have built most of the first drop. I guess I am going forwards.

Well, in the Indiana Jones ride at Disney Paris, they

just turn the car around. How are you going to take it up the lift with the catchamajig

turned around?

Nevermind. I was not going to have the train go

backwards, just BUILD backwards, but now, I am going forwards.

I have finished the first drop. After the steep lift hill,

the trains will begin a steep decent and twist 180degree while going down.
After

that, I am planning on building a vertical loop but I ran out of flexis b/c I haven't

taken down my rocket coaster yet. I might buy another set. If I don't I will

have to wait until my rocket coaster is demolished.

Well, since my rocket

coaster, Insanity has been demolished, the needed part are now available for

construction of this coaster. Here is a pic of the lift hill:

The track looks rough and the transitions are not smooth.

There is no tubing on teh lift hill, just the drop. There

drop isn't complete. The bottom of the drop hasn't been built. The drop

section is very smooth when you see it in person. ;)

Here is a pic of the station. Those are the custom invert cars. I may change the

cars and use lego people instead. What do you think?

Vertical loop is now complete! It isn't very big and I don't know

how much speed is left. I am hoping the finished layout will be vertical loop, inline

twist, immelaman (sp?) and then the station but I don't know how much speed it

will have after the loop. Wish me luck!

Vertical loop is

complete. Half of the inline twist is complete. I need to add more supports to help the

ride maintain its speed. I don't think I have enough speed for an immeleman.

After the inline twist it will probaby just turn back into the station.

Inline twist has now become more of a half inline twist and then a half corkscrew

(like on the Raptor) After the corkscrew twist element, the train goes through a 180

degree turn back to the station. The coaster is complete. I will have pics soon I hope. I

also need to think of a name.

Sounds exciting! How about

"Eagle" or "Hawk" for a name? That's go to along with

the bird of prey trend. I look forward to seeing the pics.

I am thinking about giving it a Halloween name. How

about Frightmare? Or Flightmare? Do you have any ideas?

GregM,

thanks for the names but I just named my flying coaster Iron Falcon so I want to save

some of those bird of prey names for my next flyer!

I still need a

name for the coaster so your suggestions are welcome.
I have installed rope

lights on the coaster. They start at the top of the first drop and follow the track

through the loop, the corkscrew, and through the turn to the station. Pics will be

coming soon. My dad is in Florida and has the digital camera.

PRESS RELEASE:

The new inverted

coaster is to be called Voltage-Feel The Power. This one-of-a-kind thrill ride

has riders traveling below the track rather than above on normal coasters. Voltage

starts out by climbing up the 4ft. 7in. lift hill at a 66 degree angle. Then, riders plunge

down a 180 degree spiral straight down to the ground. Next, the train whips through a

vertical loop and then roars into an inline twist/corkscrew inversion. The ride ends

with a sharp turn back into the station. This is the first inverted coaster built by

Westside7th but he claims that it will not be the last. Westside7th also told our

reporter that attended Voltage's media day that he is proud to open up a new

inverted coaster because the K'Nex world has not seen a new one in some time.

We asked Westside when Voltage will be open to the public and he told us that he is

hoping to have the coaster open for the SSCoaster community this Tuesday but he

cannot garuntee it. So, all you coaster fans, you can look forward to this new inverted

coaster, Voltage. Be prepared, it will knock your socks off!

I was bored so I decided to write a press release! As you now know,

my new invert is going to be called Voltage. Its slogan is Feel The Power. I am

hoping take pics tommorrow or tuesday but there is no garuntee. Also, has anyone

built an inverted coaster taller than 4ft. 7in.? Otherwise, I am claiming Voltage as the

tallest.

I am so glad that so many people responded to the press

release of this coaster! :P LOL, j/k.

:D
Well, I have been

busy this week with a debate meet and sound crew for the school play so I

haven't had time after school. However, my dad is going to bring home his

digital camera over the weekend so I am hoping pics will be up saturday night!

Also, I am declaring Voltage the tallest K'Nex inverted coaster if no one else

can claim that a previous inverted coaster was taller than 4ft. 8in. I noticed

coasterfreak is planning to make an invert so he might beat the height of Voltage but

we'll see.

Sorry to let you guys down but no pics this weekend.

My dad forgot to bring home his camera. This week is going to be really busy for me

because I am on the sound crew for the play at school so I won't be home very

much. I will get pics as soon as I can. I have a half day wednesday but it is weird. It

is one of those stupid 1/2 days where you sleep in the morning and then go to school at

11:00. I might have time to take pics that morning. Depends if I can get my dad to

remember to bring home the camera.
