Aw crap:

lot of internal discussion was made whether 1.6 should be free or not. Until now every update was free for every customer using NoLimits from the first version on, since end of 2001. We came to the conclusion that 1.6 would be worth some bucks and should not be free, but we will give customers of previous versions a discount. The price for the regular full version will not change, so people not having NoLimits yet will be able to buy 1.6 for the regular price. Customers of the previous version will receive a discount email offer to get NoLimits 1.6 for the discount price as soon as it is out. The discount price is not set yet but will not be higher than the half price of the regular full version. In all cases everyone who decides to buy it, will receive a full installer setup file with a new key. This cannot hurt, because the updated files will be large anyway and a lot of people might not have the original setup file any more.

It's Going to cost money:(!!!

Jeez, that sucks.

I should get around to buying NL sometime. I'll probably wait for NL 2.

Dude this update looks amazing, and your complaining? Plus, in the thing they wrote, it said it's going to cost less than half the price of full download. Again, why are you complaining?

^Cause then you can't just click "download", install, then play...
And I wasn't really complaing, or at least I wasn't trying too, I was just saying. With a sad face cause it stinks...

Hey! I just got the best idea ever!

It's always easy to make the heartline twist around the track right? Well, what if, instead of having Track nodes, why not have heart line nodes? I mean, you could create a perfect, literally perfect, heartline roll by making a line, then twisting it 360*!

What do you guys think of the idea?

That sounds really good. Instead though, that could be an option beside the Relative Roll and Continous Roll. It would be a Heartline Roll.

Or you could use this nifty thing called the AHG...lol, quite easy solution that wouldn't take months out of the dev teams time!

^I've been trying millions of times to get that stupid thing to work, and every time my coaster comes out lopsided and messed up.
^^I was thinking of that, it would be cool to just have it as an option.

READ THE README

It just takes practice. Also, use a filter setting >70-80 for best resuts like you saw on Arrowhead.

I've read the entire readme, and I've probably tried to use it 5,000,000+ times. And it doesn't ever work.

Here are my best tips:

  • Start with an extremely smooth track. The AHG is a "Quality Multiplier" This means if you have a bad (rough, pumpy, whatever) track it will make it worse and if you have a good track (Smooth, minimal pumping, good transitions) it has the potential to make it better.
  • Filter settings are your friend. On areas with negative gs where you don't want massivly distorted track, color the main track black. In order to make a smooth entry into the forced banking, color the segment before the black one red and the segment after the black one Green. This will help make your tracks less messed up.
  • I have never had issues with this because I use Elementary formulas for 90% of my rides, but make the ride extremely smooth. This goes in tie with my first tip but it is very important.
  • Make your speed settings accurate. The AHG uses Meters per Second which can be calculated from MPH by using the Coaster Calculator found at www.nolimitsdevcenter.net. If the settings are off the banking will be inaccurate resulting in high Gs (or low gs)
And my last tip is to use a lot of trial and error. Once you get the hang of it the AHG is an excellent tool to use and it is easy. I also recommend making a backup of you un-ahged track in case something goes wrong.

If you have lots of time Elementary is an amazing tool to use. It does have a massive learning curve but for people like me with above average math skills and not very good building technique it is a godsend. It can also be found in the Toolbox area of the NLDC (Link above). I do warn, however, that it is by no means an easy tool to use.
