I just finished creating a model of Hypersonic XLC. It

uses a rubber band to launch it. My camera is awful, so I've got a real camera

and taken some pictures which I will get developed soon and scan in but here is a

preview:

Launch area POV

More pics to come soon. I apoligize for how bad the pics are but the next ones will

be better.

Stats:
· Based on Hypersonic XLC in

Paramount’s king’s dominion.

· Used almost every piece of plastic tubing

and used every flexirod.

· The decorative station has a “motor” on

top to power the “compressed air launch,” which is actually just a series of 5 rubber

bands connected together.

· 39 inches tall.

· 12-inch

vertical section on each side of hill.

· Drop is 48 inches long.

· Footprint measure 10 feet 5 inches X 30 inches

· Track

measures 27 feet 4 inches long

· Bunny Hill

·

Banked Turn

· I am currently able to launch two of the coaster trains

but the launch area is too short to launch all three.

· The train launches

so fast I had to take the people out because it would launch them all over the

room!!!

I was very constrained for space on this model

and wished that I would have had more.

If the pics aren't visible

It looks like a great model. I can't wait until you

get the better pics! When you said that the launch run is only big enough for two

trains, did you mean it was only big enough for two cars connected together?

I'm not sure, what is the motor for ? Can you

explain any technical information.

Maybe it is for stretching the rubber bands to prepare

for launch. However, if you didn't stop the motor in time, the bands would

snap.

Well, the motors doesn't really have any

particular purpose other then looking cool. I also have one of my paintball air tanks on

top to add an even more realistic look. That's what I meant with the word

decorative. But that adjective is misplaced so I guess I should have been clearer.

Yeah I meant two cars, not two trains. I have tried three but the strait-away

for the launch is already too long.

Also, if you look on the side of the

station there is a piece of paper taped on it. That is a picture of the real Hypersonic

XLC that I used to guide me during construction.

BTW: When I first built

the rider it was going to be "based" on HXLC and the last half was all flat.

Then I added the little zig-zag. Then I built the bunny hill. Then I raised the turn up

really tall like the real coaster. Then none of my other supports worked so I re-did the

rest of the ride. Then I hated the way the drop looked and re-did part of it. Now it

looks pretty cool. Overall I like it better then any of my others. I just wish I had

another set, time for Ebay!!!

P.S. I use to have a

little monorail that ran around the coaster and under the drop.
