I am glad that it is coming along nicely. I feel for you

man about the flexis. My upcoming coaster is postponed until I get another set due to

lack of flexis.

spdj, did you use flexi rods on the lift? I suggest

removing the flexi rods from the lift and using the gray rods instead. It will help the lift

be staighter and it will free up flexi rods for use where you really need them... like

those other two inversions and your cool sounding helix. B)

Just a quick question, what kind of tree did you get?

We just got a balsam fir.

Track work is done!!!! thank god.

Greg to answer your question, yes i used grey rods on the lift. Yet at the end I was

running out of just about everything, except regular rods.

Ok so after the

loop i tried for a helix up into the station, didn't work. The train couldn't

make it up and around, so the ride finishes after the loop by shooting straight under the

tree and does a half turn up into the brakes. Photo update coming soon, I hope

EDIT: Just found out that Freewebs is doin maintenance on their sites, you

can access mine, but I can't make any more changes to it till tuesday, I'll

see if i can at least get a shot of the completed coaster on here

Here's where trackwork was completed up to on friday night.

Let me just say, I know a lot of you are big on the whole "smoothness"

factor, but that is near impossible to do when you are dealing with supports built onto

the tree.

Anyways, the portion through the tree consists of 3 pass

throughs

Here's a front overview of the completed coaster, adding the

straightaway, the drop (and yes, i used the K'NEX drop, well part of it) the

custom loop, with some help from a few people's models on here, and the half

turn into the brakes

The loops a little off shaped but it's so tough to

get a well shaped loop. Besides that it looks great.

The loop is a little weird looking but the coaster looks

good. I am a bit disappointed that it isn't as concealed as the other X-mas tree

cpaster you made. This one is bigger so I guess you can't hide it all inside the

tree!

Yeah actually that angle i shot on the loop makes it look a lot worse

then it really is. I was hoping to keep the track close to the tree, but then I began

running out of track, height, and speed, so i noticed the gap between the track going

from the station and lift, and somehow I fit the loop right there. I do kind of like the

straightaway and drop, because it changes up the rest of the layout, so it's not

quite as boring.

Some good news for everyone: My uncle is gonna bring his

vid cam over so i can record a video, and hopefully post it for everyone to see, So look

forward to that. As far as updates go, finals are next week, so I'm gonna try to

get an update done showing the lighting up on thursday or friday next week

Oh yeah almost forgot, Website is back up and another update showing the

posted pics as well as a few others is done
