Working Impulse Coaster!!!

coaster.
The forwards spike is a 4 foot 360 degree twisting spike, and the
back spike is straight vertical.
My launch mechanism is not a ruberband, I
find those un-reliable and they only work for a train going in one direction. For my
launches, I use a series of fly wheels to propel the trains forwards and backwards. I
simply switch the direction of the fly wheels spin when the train is on a spike.
photos comming soon.

coaster are launched by lims and have 2 towers. the front tower (1st tower) twists on
the way up. the back tower (2nd tower) is straight up and has a hold brake on which
grabs the train and holds it for a second. on wicked twister at cedar point the back
tower twists like the front tower. a good example on impulse coasters are vertical
velocity @ six flags great america, wicked twister @ cedar point, and superman
ultimate escape @ six flags worlds of adventure

the wheel thingy? where did you get it?

basically you use a system of teethed gears...lets say for example, white circular
connector.
u place on connector on a motor, then u place another one
above it, then u place another one below it...so u have a sort of mechanism thats looks
like this VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV
the bottom of the V's is a
gear and the tom point where the V's connect is a gear.....
and
basically u place a catch on the car...so the gears catch the flywheels

does the back
spike have a hold brake? if not then its not a real working impulse coaster
Twister doesn't have brakes on the back spike and that is a real Impulse Coaster

am really thinking about making it twisted......OR making the front spike at a 45
degree angle like V2 at SFMW

agree w/ you funky! i was thinking the same thing! cuz you can still have

he said the back spike wasn't
twisted, all of the impulse coasters except wicked twister (basically all that have a
twisted tower and a straight tower) have a hold brake but i may be wrong. wicked
twister has 2 twisted towers therefore ther can not be a hold brake on it
