Could I take the wheelbases from a standard invert car and put my own custom train on top of them?

Are you talking about making the CD trains into knex? I don't understand what your saying.

I am interested in buying a CD set, but I want to make a sitdown looping coaster. I want to take the wheelbases from the scorpion cars and put my own custom- built cars on top of the wheelbases.

You'd have to cut off the cars, flip them over and glue 'em.

Or you can buy a looping coaster train and put the metal wheels on, but you actually can use the Scorpian wheelbases.

All the trains available from our site come with metal wheels. Only the Staix trains sold at the parks come with plastic wheels.

And a random question - will the new lift stop the need for the trains to slam into it at high speeds, just to latch on?

Also, Could I paint the cars my own custom colors? (I think these questions are aimed at Jack Rimer)

The new lift will be MUCH improved over the old one. You can paint the trains, but since they are made of delrin, the paint is hard to make stick. Also, you cannot get any on the areas where the wheels ride or it won't work.

^^Are you a CD staff ? If yes I have a little question. I want to buy a CD set but I also want to make custom model, I read in the CD forums that the new set will feature some pre-molded pieces. Will this mean that I won't be able to modifie the layout as easily as the scoprion/dragon set ?

^yes he is. The pre molded parts in the track are from what I can see is the lift a turn after the lift. Did you read the thread buy coaster21 (thats me ). The new model will also have a working station. Its the best buy.

^I know all this but are they the only pre-molded peices? And I'll be sure to buy two of them but I hope that it won't be the color they show in the teaser pics. I hate them....

You will still be able to custom design anything by using the current flex track. The new kit is a combination of molded rigid track and flexible track. There is no limit to the design possibilities. The color combination will be completely different than anything you have seen.

Yeah I don't like either...If everything was red it would be better but still, I don't really like the layout I think I will buy a scorpion instead. I'm really disapointed.

That is still the set in it's testing phase. I'm sure it will look better when completed.
