Hi, I'm in the process of making a model but i have one problem; the car goes too fast. Any brake idea's? This is the older K'nex roller coaster, so it' cant be anything that might make the car derail because the cars just sit on the track.

Thanks

I remember making a 6 ft tall original coaster with the two layouts combined. It would always derail at the end around the last turn due to speed. I made a rail above the wheels and had it gradually close on the wheels, effectively stopping the car. You could try that, I hope you understand what I'm saying.

Yes, i' do, It's a good idea but I'm looking for one that would be easy to put on slopes, but i 'll go upstairs and try your method after I'm done posting this.

You could do that on slopes too. Just make sure to have the brake rails raised an inch over the wheel at first and angle it down at about 45 degrees until it almost touches the wheel top. Then angle it until it hits the wheel...the more you angle it and the more pressure you put on the wheel the more brake power you will have.

Yea yea, you can argue all you want...it doesn't contribute though. If a mod feels it needs to be moved then they can do it themselves. N00bs love to backseat mod.

Anyways, do you have any pics of it? Does it work well?

I think you could put some orange connectors with maybe a couple of green rods on it in the middle of a gold rod that the train will crash in to and slow it down a bit.

so it will spin around when it gets hit ,and slow the train down a bit at a time.
