Just saw this and RCDB. Looks like Universal is getting a new coaster.

^ I agree. It looks like it would kill your spine on every transition. But I'm preaty sure Universal knows what they're doing.

I live 2 hours away from Universal, so I will definitally be able to ride this. I also heard somewhere that the loop will be a non-inverting loop. I geuss this means it twists at the top. It looks like that in the first picture.

I'm just so excited for this ride, more so than any ride before it. From what I've heard, it will be one of the most advanced coasters. Rumor has it that it will have a user selectable soundtrack (ala Hollywood Dream at USJ) and will even allow riders to send a video of their ride to their email or post it on Youtube. Add all this to a very unique layout and you have one friggin awesome ride.

Now the real question is this: what will Disney announce, if anything at all, to compete with this coaster and the new Harry Potter area at IOA? Disney has the capability and the budget to make an awesome coaster, but if only they would focus on teenagers/adults for once. I believe that Universal will start to draw much more of a crowd away from the big Mouse now.

I don't think you guys realize that the loop will probably be weightless at the top. Personally, I think the idea of a non-inverting loop is awesome. I was wondering when somebody would do it. That turnaround after the first MCBR looks sick too. From what I heard, Hollywood Rockit would also feature a stengel dive like element over the entrance of the queue. I don't know if I will be able to ride it soon, but hopefully my friend will invite me down next time he goes. I mean, my parents and I have taken him to CP twice already CW, and we may be going to KI.

Just a heads up. The track work was completed yesterday, but it isn't expected to open till June or July.

That was fast, considering the lift wasn't even close to done two weeks ago when I was there. I had my doubts from the pictures, but the thing is massive in person.
