Booo.... sure it adds a nice aspect to the park but I am a roller coaster enthusiast, so screw it.
Exactly my thoughts. First of all, that price tag is preposterous. 10.5 Million USD for an Intamin/RT Shoot-the-chutes!? That's insane. I could say an addition such as Thunder River at Waldameer Park would be a much better investment. (you can't tell much from that picture, but it is a VERY good ride if you've ridden it)
By comparison, I should point out that Voyage at Holiday World is 2 Million USD cheaper. I'm just not thrilled with Cedar Fair's decision for Cedar Point.

^LOL.
Good addition to the park and it should eat people up. And it'll get people out of the lines for TTD, MF, and Maverick!
Exactly. As if Millennium Horse even has a line these days, but I wouldn't mind walk ons

It's Intamin. It's going to be expensive. They could've gone with Mack, but they didn't. Plus, there's many other factors you have to consider besides the ride. The ground is already pretty soft on the peninsula, but this ride is over a lagoon. The foundations for this will have to be pretty extensive. Also, you can't even compare Voyage with this. They wanted to build a water ride, not a roller coaster.
I set my expectations low and I think this looks like a cool ride. But WTF does Whyte Lyhtnig (or however the freak it's spelled) have to do with anything.
Whyte Lightning, if you can spell it, is another name for an illegal alcoholic beverage called Moonshine. The ride is about feuding over a moonshine still.
I think people overhyped this. Ever since White Water Landing was taken down, a lot of people wanted a new water ride. This is that ride.
Everything at CP is overhyped. I'm not surprised at all the bitching being done just because of the simple fact that it isn't a water coaster.
Ok, time for my personal opinion, since it's the only one that matters
The ride looks good for a water ride, but it could've been designed a lot better. The second drop should've been the higher one. They also should've used the same type of lift as Pilgrim's Plunge(at least for the larger drop). This would've made the ride a lot more interesting and probably more fun and suspenseful than it is now. Oh well...
