I am creating a VV coaster, hoping to enter in to MOTY. So far I have made the lift hill and part of the first drop. Tell me if its needs to be taller, shorter, steeper, whatever. Here are the pics of the lift:

Alright -

1. Lift is VERY bumpy and looks very flimsy snd unstsble.
2. All of the tubes on the lift should be like the biggest one, a triangular shape.
3. Honestly, I'm not sure if you have the experience to build with tubes. I say you should build a simple box supported hyper if this proves to be to difficult.

One more thing - If any, how many custom coasters have you built?

The lift runs smoothly, but Ill try to smooth it out; although the supports are pretty strong, Ill take your advice; this is my first try at tube supports, so dont get angry. I havent put any on SSC, but Ive been building coasters for years. I will try to fix it as soon as I can.

Hes not saying the lift runs bumpy, hes saying the lift is bumpy.

And your tubes are bending.

The lift is bumpy (the track.)
Your supports are flimsy at best, try looking at BBaller's hyper that he made (look in his sig)
And how many VV sets do you have?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not angry at all. I'm just saying tube supports are very difficult to succesfully support a coaster with. Especially slim track because the track is so flimsy as it is. If you want to make this work, you need track strengtheners. Look at some pics of my hyper to see them (sorry to use my coaster as an example, I just don't know of any other coasters with those strengtheners). The link to the database is in my sig. Good luck!

I was just joking about being angry. I also straightened and supported the track so heres the pics.

Tell me if its good or needs more work.

The first pic makes it look smooth, but the third doesn't. Also the chain doesn't go very far on the crest. Are you using at least a three car train?

One more thing - I forgot to mention that tube supports use A LOT MORE pieces that box supports. For example, on my coaster, I thought I had more that enough micro pieces to complete my layout - I was way wrong. I bought more pieces, and even ran out again! I had to finish with standard sized pieces, which didn't look too bad. So I would rethink your piece amount, and how much money your parents will let you spend on more pieces.

I am using two three car trains, and they always make it over the crest of the hill. Probably the first thing I realized was how many peices tubes needed. I actualy just recieved three new coaster sets today, so hopefully Ill be able to finish the coaster as I plan. I dont think Ill have enough micro pieces to finish the whole coaster, but I always have lots of standard peices.

I cant build much more till tuesday, because Im having my carpet replaced. It would be terrible to find it doesnt fit through the door, and have to take the whole thing apart!

Sorry for the dp, but I finished the first drop and wanted to show the pics. I have also decided the layout I want (if I have enough peices). After the drop, I want a camel-back hill, a hammerhead, another hill, dive under the station, and a helix to finish it off.

Again, I wont be able to build till tuesday.

It seems nice. There might be a bump at the bottom of the drop, but you haven't continued that part yet.

The crest is really big, I suggest you make it way smaller. The drop might be a tad straight in the middle, but it looks ok. Also in the middle of the drop, that purple ladder connector creates a sharp spot. Add one of these to the end to sort that out.

^Ansion (VV version) used those track strengtheners, except it was with flexis and the yellow transition connectors from the DD. Here:

Hope this helps!

^Thanks! I didn't realize what everyone meant by track strengtheners, now that I see it, I will definitely use this in my coaster:)

Any name ideas would be appreciated, because I am terrible at naming things.

Whoa! Cool. I remember following VV Anison - must have missed the update with that picture. Nice idea with the flexis.

Mynci- The strengtheners are a must. They work very well. As for the naming part, well I'm really bad at picking names.

DP :(
This isnt exactly the update I wanted to post, but after I got the new carpet, I tried to move the coaster back into my room, and failed. I might be able to recreate it, but I doubt it. Heres the pic of the wreckage:

Well, at least you can start over trying to fix the things we pointed out.

Ignore what I said about not recreating it, Ive already refinnished the lift, first drop, and part of the hill. I added more supports, used track stengtheners, and changed the track color to green.
