Nominations will start soon. You will have until November 27th to nominate members. On that night, the nominations will end and voting will start on the 28th. You will have then have until December 25th to vote. Results will be announced on January 1st. DO NOT vote or nominate now!

During nominations, there will be topics in a special subforum where you can nominate members and coasters for a certain category. When the nominating process is over, we will take all the nominations and make polls with them. The polls will be private and determine the winner. This system will be a lot more efficient than last years. You can only nominate one person per category! IMPORTANT: You must include the name of the coaster and the creator. Also, you CAN NOT nominate or vote for yourself. If you nominate yourself, your nomination will not be recognized. If you vote for yourself, you will be disqualified from the awards. All models that you nominate must be from this past year, 2009. (January 1st-December 1st)

Extra note: Moderators and administrators can nominate and vote as well.

Best Coaster:
The best coaster of the year. Must be a completed model.

Favorite New Ride Design:
A new launch? New Braking system? Nominate it here.

Best Style Award:
Do you want to tap that model? Post the name of it.

Favorite Builder:
You like that members work? Post his name.


MEMBERS-

Best Old Member:
You really like us old nerds? Post his name!

Best New Member:
You actually might like this n00b? Nominate him!

Most Reliable Member:
Is he on time with everything and tells the truth? Post the kid's name!

Most Improved Member:
Is there one member who has just recently become the shizzz? Nominate him!

New Member with the Best Grammar:
Is there a n00b who has perfect grammar skills? Nominate them!

Best Advice:
You actually follow what these crazy people say here? Nominate them!

Best Staff:
Come on, you know you love us. Post your favorite!

Most Entertaining:
Will this member take a pie in the face any day? Post his name.

Most Dedicated:
You think someone contributes a lot to the site? Nominate that person!

Is there a company that kicks butt and takes names? Nominate it!

Most Innovative Company:
Which company invents the most and best stuff? Post the company!

Does a company have some awesome banners or is presented well? Nominate them!

Thanks for the correction. I knew I missed something. And yes, DO NOT nominate. We are doing a new system this year. This is only posted to allow members to start thinking about their nominations.

Just a suggestion but I think it would be cool if there was a best themed coaster. Also, can we nominate/vote our own company?

Since you can't nominate/vote for yourself, you can't nominate/vote for the company you're in?

I think the reason for that is naturally because everyone thinks their company is the best.

Also, just wondering, what's the longest amount of time a person can be on the site to be called a "New Member"?

The voting rule and nominating rule has been changed this year because of the companies simply because the company with the most members will win if we could vote for our own. This will hopefully make things more fair.

Also, to be considered a new member, you must have joined on or after January 1st, 2009.

Just to add another note to nominating...

If everyone has already been covered, such as in the best staff thread, do not repost the same member. No need in having BGT nominated 4 times...

Just a suggestion, but maybe in BIG RED LETTERS, you could put at the top of each topic (THIS IS A NOMINATION NOT A VOTE, PLEASE DO NOT PUT A NOMINATION FOR SOMEONE ALREADY NOMINATED) or something like that. I know some peeps won't even read the first topic, but it might deter a few people from doing it.

Half the people/coasters I was going to nominate were already nominated when I had opportunities to vote. Now I have to do some mass searching for new info for the ones I missed.

That was a brilliant idea. It will help a lot a long way down the road when it comes time to compile voting threads. It also gets the entire staff involved the awards.

That is why it says "Nominations" in the topic title.

You know, you don't have to nominate a new person. If somebody you want was already nominated, then you could just wait for voting.
