II have
to ask how will you reach it 13 feet above your house because i dont think putting a
ladder on your roof is a good idea.
am going to prefabricate the tower. I will make a 30 foot tall metal support that can be
in the middle of the tower. I will lay that on the ground and build the tower around the
metal support. I will also put the track on and zip tie the Knex tower to the metal
tower. This is still all on the ground. To make it vertical I will have someone hold the
bottom of the tower and I will tie a rope to the top of the tower. I will go on the deck
with the rope in my hand and I will pull the tower up. Hopefully it won't break or
fall over when I do this.

doesn't fall over? You could dig a hol 3 feet into the ground and cement it like a
basketball hoop.

what to use to support my tower. My dad says wood will warp, the plastic pipe will
bend, and his idea of a metal frame will coast about $100. I don't want to
pay this much for a metal support that I wont used again. Does anyone have a
suggestion. I was going to have the Knex tower one red pole wide and one red pole
long and 30 feet high.

had two plans. Build the coaster up the side of my house up to about 20+ feet and
then use K'NEX for the rest. Or, I was going to build a K'NEX tower on
top of my 9 foot tree fort so the tower would'nt have to go all the way to the
ground. Why don't you just build a K'NEX tower from you balcony and
up but then have a metal pole between the ground and baclony for the bottom part.

Because he wants it to be free-standing, other than just placed some where, or
hooked up there. Plus, the thing will get more speed this way.
I say
you tie several cords into the ground and to the tower, like those tall anntennas you see
when you drive down to knotts berry farm and the dlr. But dont just support the top,
you have to support it all they way down the tower. I'll try to draw a pic, if
necessary.

tower wont support itself. (13 feet from my roof to 30 feet in the air) I need something
to hold the tower at the top and I have it figured out. I am using the sewage pipe.

the ground and build on that.

If you
can you could get a strong PVC pipe
PVC pipe is strong in width, but not lenght. After 7 feet of pipe, it starts to
bend. After 30 feet, the pipe bends so much, it would knock the tower down.

couple of boards. If you nail it together correctly, it could be pretty strong.

doesn't sound bad Westside7th, but you could also do something out of steel
pipes or something...

summer. Right now I want to relax over the winter break. I am also starting a raw
materials model that I have been planning for about a year now.
