Hey guys. I have started a mini project. I wanted to make something with sketch up, and i decided on this. It will be a long time to finish. This is just the easy half. Some pics:

I don't really get what you are trying to accomplish with this? What practical purpose does it serve?

Huh??? I don't really understand what you are saying.

ya sorry, i was being sarcastic. That was a model of the BOF headquarters right? So it would be like where we work right? I was joking and saying that I requested a windowed office with a view. Also, every office building in real life has a water cooler. Like in the show "the office" or the movie "office space". The employees usually stand around this water cooler and gossip, chat, shoot the breeze, etc. get it now?

Oh. Well, with the design, everyone would have 2 offices. A designing office (that is what was built), and a work office.

Nice, so you are starting it over again? It looked pretty sweet. What program are you using to design that anyway?

Yes, I have started it over again. I am using CAD for this. Yes, i bought a CAD program just for this. Anyone want a copy? Lol. Just kidding. I am using Google Sketchup for this.

Edit: There is a place in the design already where the water cooler will go.

Up next is the main building. The main building will have access to the 2 main staircases.
Also, with a total of 50 designing rooms, we have room to expand lol. When I am done with this I might convert 2 or 3 or 4 rooms on one of the floors to a confrence room.
The main building will have 2 floors, with most normal offices on the 2nd floor. that is excluding the Treasury Office and something else (I forget).

Wouldn't this be awesome if we all really worked at this place and designed roller coasters all day -- and got paid for it? Sweet. Seriously TKd, if you are still young (i mean high school or younger) and that's what you want to do...do it. Get good grades, get a bachelor's in M.E. and work for B&M or Intamin. Then maybe you could start your own company. Heck if you're good at CAD you could ace the computer modeling classes at college. Learn to use pro-E (if it still exists).

I wish I had done that. I have a BS in ME but I never persued working for a roller coaster design company.

I am a freshman in highschool. And you know, there is irony in that post. I hav had this idea for awhile now where (whoever wants to) we go off to work for a company and after about 5 years we come back together and form a company. I am up for it. We would have to start with flat rides though.

Wow this looks great! And I hope some day all of us get to work in a big office like that and getting paid to design roller coasters.

The idea of the designing offices overlooking the warehouse is so they can watch their design get together. What do you guys think of my idea of us all working together as an actual company when we grow up?
