I'm building a new woodie now. I tried making a special spriral-lift coaster, but I failed. This is what I have so far:

Reminds me of my woodie that I started but never finished 2 years ago. Strange technique having those long greys cross over in the middle.

It is a bit bumpy, so just straighten it out, all over.

When you make the track go straight again after the first drop, keep the track the same height instead of making it on a decline.

It's not bad, but definately try to shape it better and pull that unbankment up a small green rod up and it should look good.

Wow! So far, this is really a phenomenal ride with the turning drop and beautiful shaping! I really don't see much wrong with this drop, but I can't wait to see how the layout will turn out in the end. Great work so far, but this really reminds me of Great Hurricane.

If I'm correct, they're tension rods so the circle doesn't come apart. That's what I had to do for my woodie that neve was completed.

They also save pieces. Smart idea!
The track is a bumpy in some places, so you should go through and smooth it out. The drop is awesome otherwise, you don't see very many drops like that (that's a good thing)!

I don't think you got what I meant. Look at the supports on the lift. The long grey rods of the supports cross each other in the middle. See now? :D

I see what you meant! It saves pieces, but it might create a lot of stress on the coaster.

This is awesome, but the end of the pullout needs to be worked on. It is straight. But I love this nevertheless.

Thanks for all the comments, I appreciate them.:) The "crossing long gray rods" are to save pieces, like ~stεεlspectrum~ said. ForgotToGrowUp used this technique too on http://www.sscoaster...s-runnin-10778/. I will smooth the drop out and continue building.

I think the turn at the bottom of the drop could use more banking and the pullout could be bigger to save speed. In the "top of the hill" picture it looks like the structure is not one structure but two near each other. It will be a lot more stable and look better if you can keep it one continuous structure.

Yes, crossing a pair of grey rods will save you a ton of granite rods and doesn't create any major issues/stress.

Yes, your pull-out is too small and I think the crest of the hill is too sharp. You might want to start the twisting from the pull-out to the hill a little bit later, that will look better IMO :)

I agree. Bigger valley and more banking and the crest of that hill could be bigger.

I agree with them. Also, the right side of the pullout has a straight spot.

Just a question, have you weighted and lubricated your cars yet? Because it looks like you could have a lot more speed.

Are your cars weighed? I'm pretty sure their not becouse with those amazing (and strong) track to support connections, it should fly through both of what you had above. Your shaping is really nice too!

Thanks for your comments!
When I maded the pull-out bigger, the element doesn't fit no longer. So I have changed it to this:

Bigger pull-out:

Top off hill ( to sharp):

I have weighted the trains (not full), but not lubed the trains. I'll do that when the coaster is done.

wow that's really creative, I like it a lot :). I think you should lube your coasters now, that makes such a big difference.
