It's funny how anyone who can drive a car would accept a fuel-efficient reliable car as dream-worthy, yet anyone who's either too young on not able to drive a car wants a 500HP Carbon-fiber super-power-uber-car.

I'd like a Ford Focus RS (If I had a choice of any) or a Scirocco R

I want to have a cute VW Golf as soon as I have my license.
And if I win a million dollars, I would change that to a VW Golf GTI.

How is obtaining a drivers license regulated in the UK/US? Do you need to take classes/lessons, do you have a theoretical test where you need to name road signs, speed limits etc.?

I just passed for my theoretical exam and I've been taking lessons for about 6 months now. Most people need somewhere between 30 and 50 lessons. I hope I can go for the practical exam soon as you are not allowed to take it without a paper that says you know the theory. I waited very long with that and I failed the first time, so I really hope I have my license soon.

When US kids are 15 and half years old, we can go take a written test on road signs and laws to get out Temps. 6 Months later of Driving with a Parent, taking a 8 day (3 hours a day) course, and driving 50 somethin hours we can take an in car test for our license.

4WD, large trunk, not too expensive, decent mpg. It would be great for living in the mountains and skiing. :D

For the UK, you get a provisional license at age 17 for £30 (you need to apply)
That allows you to drive a car without any tests or lessons when someone who had had a full driving license for more than 3 years is in the car.
You then take lessons / theoretical test in any order, and then when you're ready (25-50 lessons) you take your test.
The national average is 40 lessons, and yet I've booked my test after 15.

To failure!
