Oi,

After a few years of playing RCT3, i wanted to play something else. What about RCT2? So i downloaded a good workbench and started building. Its going to be a park with a lot of mountains and trees, because i like the style of wood in a amusement park.

Right now, i am building the Parking lot and path to the entrance;





This is the building where the cars enter the park, there's also a place for huge groups to wait.



When people walk towards to bridge to walk over the road, they see some waterfalls.


Parking lot teaser, im not so happy with it but its not done yet.

This is really cool! I would recommend making the entrance a bit more interesting, though. Guests want to be dazzled when they enter a park.

Keep this up and you may get a gamer tag! (Hint hint: I might suggest it to the staff).

Thanks! I know the entrance is not so 'awesome', but its going to be a park in the woods, with mountains and water, so its more a adventurepark for the whole family xD. I will see what i can do with the parking entrance!

Time for an Update!

Today, i build the entrance for guests and a ferris wheel. I've also started building a souvenir shop, that isnt done yet.
The buildings are in the same style, thats because the park will have different zones with their own building style, and the entrance/mainstreet zone will have a lot of wood.

Here the guests can walk to the park or the hotel, wich isn't build yet.


This is the entrance, only need to add some lights, signs and trees.

I'm still not liking the entrance, the bridge could be better too. Other than that it's pretty good.

Yeah i know, the bridge is just there so i know how big i need to build a bridge.
What can i do to make the entrance better? Thanks!

Just a update because i want to know what you think about the layout.

I like that layout a lot. In the second picture, on the top left, you could add some more supports there if possible to fill the gap between the two hills. Wood coasters of this type tend to have elements that are really close to each other, if you know what I mean.

As for the entrance, it just needs a bit more colour. Add some flags (custom scenery) to the roof to give it a bit more presence. Just don't overdo it!

Thanks for your feedback! The plan is to build a rapid river that goes under the woodie (under that 2 hills on the second screenshot).
I will see what i can make on the entrance because i dont have flags in my current workbench xD

I'm not liking the fact that the woodie touches the ground. That really bugs me.

Yeah i know, i am going to remove the woodie and build a smaller and more compact one . Any layout ideas?

Why not make it a GCI? They are really easy to create layouts for. Also, they can be very compact if you need them to be.

A good GCI layout could do wonders for this park. Also you paths need diagonals, the edge's look pretty horrid. (If this is too brutal sounding I need to spend less time at NE.)

I will see what kind of GCI coaster i can make, but i think RCT2 cant make the smooth elements most GCI's have.

Also, for the diangonal paths, i dont have good-looking fences for them .

Its certainly getting better. I like the old feeling of the entrance, but with just a flash of contemporary design to it.

Thanks for the pictures, i will build a 'real GCI' somewhere in the park soon, but for now, i finished the small woodie at the entrance. What do you think about the layout?:

Th pullout of the first drop seems way too small.

I know, but its the biggest smooth pullout in rct2 xD

For woodies, I usually add an extra gentle slope piece at the pullout. It doesn't look too bumpy in my opinion.

As for your coaster, I like the short layout. Its somewhat unique.

However, I don't like the layout of the queue line. It seems too random.

BTW, are you still going to build the rapid ride underneath this coaster? If so, where?

Nah, i dont like the gentle slope thing.
Queue line will be themed soon xD.

Rapid river will be next to it, not underneath anymore.

The tower thingy on the station roof isn't done, and i need to add a few details to the path.
