New York City & Great Escape

So for the first weekend of Helmer's visit in the USA, we decided to go to New York City and on the way home hitting The Great Escape, a small yet fun Six Flags park in Lake George, NY.
Starting off with New York City on Saturday, we wanted to go to the Statue of Liberty since Helmer has never seen it, and I have never seen it either.
On our way there, we just had to get this!
And finally after the boat ride over, we were able to see the statue.
After that we headed over through different part of NYC, one of them being the Freedom Tower.
The other part being the Toys R Us which contained an awesome T-rex!
Sunday we woke up early and headed back home, making sure to hit this small, but awesome park.
We got in the park and thought this would make a nice photo.
In about an hour, this would be our first coaster of the day.
We found our way around the park pretty easily too.
Sasquatch (in the background) was actually relocated from Six Flags New Orleans. I sure am happy they did that because it is one cool ride!
Then we actually rode it! The first time we went on the drop tower because the launch tower wasn't working at the time, but later that day we came back and rode the launch tower since they had gotten it working again. In the end, I rode the drop tower once more while Helmer sat out.
While waiting, Helmer took a nice shot of Steamin' Deamon from the station. We rode it twice, the first time in the front row and the last time in the back row, and I was actually surprised about how fast you got pulled through each element in the back row. We got airtime on the drop that is how crazy it yanked us through!
After that we went over to Boomerang to ride it one, and only once. It was one heck of a ride that left us both sitting down for a minute or two.
After I recovered, I decided to pose with my favorite coaster *sarcasm*
Then we went and rode Bobsled, and my dad joined us for this one. We got the Jamaica bobsled in the back row, and I was surprised how fast it was compared to the last time when it was very boring to me with no force at all! This time, there was quite a lot of force, and Helmer and I yelled in pain because we got thrown into the side of the cars at the end, but it was actually a lot of fun.
Then we rode the Comet twice, and that was one great time! We got an awesome onside photo of us posing while playing cards, so I have to get that photo up soon!
While heading back up front to ride Sasquatch, we came across Condor. We didn't dare ride this or else we would both vomit and be done for the day. I do have to admit though, it makes for a great photo!
So, yeah! That was our beginning weekend trip, and next weekend we are planning on hitting Hershey. We'll both check back in with you guys when that happens!
