Hey guys! It’s been a while since you’ve heard something of me (Tom). I’ve had a great vacation a few weeks ago! I’ve been to the USA with some family members. We’ve had a great time. Really enjoyed everything we’ve seen and visited. In total we were in the States for three weeks. It all started in NYC for a few days. After NYC we moved on with an RV, really awesome :D The first destination of the trip was:

Yes, that’s right. Our first destination was Cedar Point!!!

Cedar Point is one of the parks that has been on my wish list for a LONG time. This is, however, not crazy since the park contains a LOT of rollercoasters :).

^This was the first view that I had of the park itself. You can already see the huge skyline when still having to drive a couple of miles. After I saw this I’d gotten even more excited!

After driving some more miles we’d gotten on the road which leads you straight to Cedar Point. You’ll see the skyline even better from that road. Here’s is a picture, but unfortunately it is out of focus :(

After checking in we moved on the the Camper Village. My dad checked us in, and said that there were no Fast Lane tickets available anymore….
BUT he was kidding :D I was so happy when I heard that we had Fast Lane tickets, since it was REALLY busy in the park from what I could see out of the RV.
Before making a nice walk during sunset, we ofcourse had to eat something. We still had some nice large steaks :) That’s what I’d like to call good food!

So after dinner it was time to see Maverick during sunset. Here are some pictures of the walk that I made together with my cousins:

I have to say that Maverick looks amazing when the sun sets. Now I really couldn’t wait anymore!!! (Still had to “sleep” one more night :P)
It was 7.30 am when I woke up. It was time. Time for the day that I’ve been waiting for. It was time for Cedar Point :D
Twenty minutes before the park opened for the early entry we walked to the entrance (the one located next to soak city). We waited in line until the gates would open. Exactly at 9am we heard the American Anthem. After it was over we could go into the park!!

My family asked me what I wanted to do. I was certain about I wanted to do: Maverick. We headed to Maverick with quite some fast walking. We only had to wait for five minutes until we sat in the train (I believe it was the black one). My first ride was in the back seat.
How was the ride??
This coaster really blew me away! It starts with a fast lifthill. Then you go down the drop that had way more airtime then I expected it to be (almost on par with the bunny hills from Goliath, Walibi Holland). Then there were some very nice turns which had some very nice G-forces. After that the airtime hill which, ofcourse, brought a lot of airtime. After that you go trough two inversions, and then into the tunnel with the launch. The launch felt really nice, so did the turn after the launch. You can really feel the speed decrease after the turn where I was talking about. Still the rest of the ride (containing the sort of stengel dive elements) was very nice too. The last airtime hill (together with the turn into the brakes) made a great ending of the ride.
This coaster is, IMO, the best coaster that I’ve ever ridden. The combination of: Airtime, G-forces, a launch and inversions is the thing that makes this a really great coaster. I’d give this ride a 9.5/10

Alright, so we moved on to Millennium Force, in the hope that we wouldn’t have to wait too long. Unfortunately the line was very long, and Fast Lane only worked after 10am, so we passed Millennium Force. What to do then?! I was thinking and then thought of Raptor :).
Raptor is a very nice coaster (and my first inverted B&M). This ride has got quite some G-forces, especially in the last helix. The ride itself was pretty smooth (not too much rattle). I enjoyed this one!! Definitely a nice 8/10.

It was almost opening time for the non-early entry persons. So as fast as we could we moved on to Top Thrill Dragster. My dad and I waited for twenty minutes, and then we sat in front row :D After the security checks the train starts to move. You can feel the adrenaline flowing through your body. The train then starts to move backwards. When that happened, I realised that I was only a few seconds away from a coaster that launches you to 193 km/h in 4 seconds. I looked at the lights, and saw them lightning up after a few seconds. Then it was time. The launch is REALLY strong, the strongest that I’ve had in my life. After what seems like half a second you move up the 128 meter high tower. It felt great to go up so fast. Then you get a nice glimpse of Lake Erie and the rest of the park, before going down again. The twist on the way down was nice. Then comes the pullout and the brakes. I was literally blown away. The ride is only 17 seconds long, but it just gives such a huge blast! I was amazed.
This ride deserves a 9/10, it is simply awesome!

After Top Thrill Dragster we moved on to Corkscrew. Corkscrew has got some very nice looks. The coaster was smoother then I expected! The coaster itself isn’t that special, but not bad too. I’d give it a 7/10.
http://i807.photobuc...44.jpg~original

Then we moved on to Magnum XL200. I expected quite a good ride, because I read that it was a pretty good coaster. The ride itself is very nice, it’s got lots of airtime (floater and ejector)! The bad thing was that the ride wasn’t always smooth. But overall it’s a good coaster. I give it a 7.5/10
http://i807.photobuc...63.jpg~original

After Magnum it was time for Gemini. It was a really fun ride because of the real racing effect. People gave each other high fives in the turns (I did that too), that was a lot of fun! I thought the coaster was pretty smooth too! I give it a 7.5/10.

Then we ate some lunch, before moving on to Millennium Force. There was this guy sitting behind me (we rode back row) who was really scared. I’ve been talking to him for a minute and after the ride he told me that he’d really enjoyed the ride. It was an awesome guy :P He was not the only person that had enjoyed his ride on Millennium Force. I actually had a huge blast! The first drop is very nice, and gives you some nice airtime! The overbanked turn is pretty forcefull. The hills had some floater airtime, nice, but not too spectacular. The rest of the overbanked turns felt very nice, so did the high speed turns that actually gave a really nice feeling. You really felt that you were going very fast. The last airtime hill was good too! It gave a little bit of ejector, but not too much. The ride ends with a smooth overbanked turn. I had a great ride! I’d give this coaster a 9.3/10

Then we rode Mantis, since it was close to MF. Mantis was my first ever stand up coaster. It was a great experience! The coaster was pretty powerful. Standing up in a coaster felt great, I really enjoyed the ride! I’d give it a 7.8/10

http://i807.photobuc...14.jpg~original

http://i807.photobuc...13.jpg~original

Then we moved past Iron Dragon to Power tower
http://i807.photobuc...15.jpg~original

We went on the shot side. It really gave a good blast! The airtime on the top could’ve been better. But it was still a very nice ride. I give this a 7/10
http://i807.photobuc...45.jpg~original

It was already 2pm after Power Tower, so we moved on to Blue Streak. First we saw that there would be a show at 3pm, so my family wanted to go there and they wanted me to join them. Ah well, let’s do a quick ride on Blue Streak before moving on ;)
Blue Streak was a fun ride, but it hurted me. I don’t know it was the train or just me, but the ride was very bumpy. It was fun, but the fact that it hurt me a little bit makes it not that good to me. Shaking around is good, until it starts to hurt. I give blue streak a 5/10

Then it was time for the show. We went to the freestyle show (or whatever it’s called). It was a very nice show (I didn’t expect it to be a very nice show ;)) There was a lot of action going on. Very nice! It was about extreme sports (like skating, BMX’s, Parcour etc.)
After this show we went back to the campsite. I grabbed my camera and went out to shoot some pictures before we were going to eat some dinner (those pictures were a lot of the pictures shown in the TR).
After dinner we went back in the park to ride Wicked Twister and Gatekeeper. Unfortunately I didn’t ride Wicked Twister, since 1.5 hour of waiting time was too long for me. So we moved on to Gatekeeper, where we only had to wait 30 minutes.

I rode the right side, 7th row. The start of the ride is great with the snakedive! I really enjoyed the feeling that I got from it :). After that came kind of a forceless ride, but still extremely smooth and nice. That made the ride great IMO. The way the train moves is so gentle and smooth that that is a very nice experience to me.
7.9/10!

Then we moved back to get a quick ride on Windseeker and Gemini. This was a very nice ride, but not too special IMO. Still nice :)

After that my nephew (who is 11 years Old) wanted to ride Top Thrill Dragster. Ofcourse that was fine to me ;) We waited and the ride broke down :( (It was 9:20pm). After waiting for 30 minutes in the line (including the technical malfunction) we could get in! We both had a great blast!!
After this ride I only had 20 minutes remaining until the park would close. I ran to Millennium Force as quick as I could, but unfortunately the ride was closed.. But I still thought that I could get a quick ride on Maverick, so I just moved on again. My thoughts were true, I could get two more nighttime rides on Maverick. Those rides were even more awesome then daytime rides!! My family went to luminosity when I went to Maverick, so after the ride closed I went towards luminosity to see if I could find them. I didn’t find them so I headed back to the Camper Village. Wait… Wait… What did I see?!? I saw some people getting into the train of dragster (like 10 people) and the ride was already closed. It was 10:20pm at that time. I ran to the ride operator to ask if I could get one more ride. He didn’t let me, but after talking to him for some seconds he let me go through the entrance for the employees :D :D :D I had the last ride of the whole day on Top Thrill Dragster and the other rides of the park. This was PURE awesomeness for me :D

I had a great day at Cedar Point. Unfortunately I didn’t get to ride all coasters (eventhough I had a Fast Lane pass). But that’s a reason to get back ;)

Ride count:
TTD: x3
MF: x3
Maverick: x3
Gemini: x2
Rest of the rides mentioned in the TR: x1
I hope you enjoyed this TR!!

You're quite the photographer! Those are some of the best Cedar Point pictures I've seen in a long time.
