On the day after our last visit to Six Flags Great Adventure we drove from Pennsylvania back to Vermont. After such a long trip it felt good to be home again, and to be able to work on Knight Valley Wood Coaster. I still had one week left in Vermont before I had to fly back to the Netherlands. On one of those days we visited Six Flags New England. The park looks really neat, and contrary to some other Six Flags parks it is located in a fairly nice area. Six Flags New England has a good collection of coasters, and with the addition of Wicked Twister in 2015 it becomes even better. The park was pretty crowded that day, so we only did a couple of coasters. Unfortunately we could not ride SkyScreamer, due to a storm coming in.

Bizarro, the biggest coaster of the park.

Batman - The Dark Knight is short but sweet.

Goliath, which used to be Deja Vu in Six Flags Magic Mountain before they moved it to Massachusetts.

Here are some photos of the places we visited in Vermont. We drove through the Appalachian Gap (also known as the App Gap) and we went to a small waterfall in the town of Middlebury.

Three days prior to my departure to the Netherlands, Elijah had to go to luge camp in Lake Placid, New York. After we dropped him off, we took a look at the luge track. It was cool to see a luge track without any ice on it.

We also went canoeing on Lake Champlain, which is a lake between Vermont and New York. We literally canoed from Vermont to New York, which was really cool.

Smugglers Notch is a mountain pass in Vermont. In the past it has been used as a place to hide smuggled goods from Canada. The road was very narrow.

On my last day in the United States we climbed Snake Mountain. Here is a nice photo we took there.

2014 Trip Park Count:
10. Six Flags New England

2014 Trip Coaster Count and Opinion:

SIX FLAGS GREAT ADVENTURE

70. Bizarro: A fantastic Intamin Mega, although the coaster was a little rougher than I initially expected. The hills and buckles give ejector airtime and Bizarro has an excellent lay-out.
71. Batman - The Dark Knight: Although the coaster is not tall or big at all, it is still a great ride. The drop is really steep and it is cool that the lay-out is different from most other B&M Loopers.
72. Goliath: I had high expectations of this Vekoma Giant Inverted Boomerang, but it did not meet my expectations at all. The coaster broke down during the afternoon, but we could ride Goliath by the end of the day. I do not know if I should blame the new trains for this, but this ride was horrible. It was super rough, and it hurt my back so badly. The whole concept is cool though.

Thanks for reading all the trip reports of Coaster Trip 2014!

Awesome pictures. I want to go up to Smuggs Notch for skiing and try out the infamous triple black diamond. I'd probably injure myself, but it would definitely be worth the story.

It really is awesome you get to do all of these USA trips Helmur.

I wish I could make trips like these!!! Traveling around the USA with a friend and ride rollercoasters is one of the best things you can do, well I have no friend who do that, they all dont like coasters that much. Can I ask you how much it cost you? I want to do a trip like that too after I made the Abitur (German general qualification for university entrance).
