I was so sad when I saw this on Youtube! Is any of the ride salvageable? At least now you know how NOT to assemble a ferris wheel...

Well I've watched this in the original unedited video and this one on YouTube just now and it still hasn't got any less painful when I see it. This ride deserved a better ending.

The assembly was the same on GWOH and that worked just fine. The problem lies with the spokes, they bent too far. What's the status of it now? Have you taken everything apart yet?I think that collapse could have been avoided if you finished the wheel keeping the gap at the top.. the outside of the wheel had no rigidity as it wasn't a complete loop, and the spokes are there for tension, not to support the outside.

I am breaking apart and building on my next ride at the same time, so it is not going very fast. I am afraid it is going to take ages to get everything broken down and sorted. It is hard to find the motivation to do it.
