Hey guys, Outlaw Run had some, errrr, technical difficulties and had to be canceled. Again. Don't worry though, I will recreate that coaster before I put away my K'nex for good whenever that maybe. But I have finally decided to not be so ambitious an Im going to make a three gray rod tall out back out back woodie. I got the first drop, first turn around, and the first half of the first airtime hill done. Without farther ado, here it is!

Good start so far. You hope to have this go out and back twice?

Looks pretty neat and smooth to me. Hopefully it won't encounter any... technical difficulties.

This looks much more practical than Outlaw Run.  The shaping is on, and the supports look great!  Maybe think about converting that second hill to a double down or something?  Most classic out-and-back woodies have a full sized drop after a turnaround.

I did at first, but I eventually ditched the first drop all together.

My! You've changed!

timber chaser maybe. I'll keep thinking. anyways, it looks good. but in the third picture, things look a little bumpy. maybe it's because your using granites? just mess with it a little to see if you can get it smoother.

How do I upload a picture here omgg.

Interesting idea, having a bump before the drop.

There's a good name! For the "not good" bucket of names.

Thanks! I was able to fix the bumps you were talking about.

How about Totality as a name? I'm generally pretty bad at names as well but it could be something kinda cool to theme it around. Your drop and supports look pretty good to me. If you had more time, you could probably perfect it a little more but you're still doing a good job going quickly regardless.

I figured out a name once you said Totality as a suggestion. Not much theming is going to go into this one. Thanks!

Well crap. The display date got pushed up a week. I'm going to be working frantically to get this finished in time. Also, a couple of side notes, I have a song I'll use for the final video. Its Syn Cole - Feel Good (NCS release) heres the link.  https://www.youtube....h?v=q1ULJ92aldE I have a name as well! The name is,

Total Control

I'm not 100% sure on the name it might change. What do you guys think of it?

Here are the pictures! I'm also uploading a YouTube video as I type.

I like it, I was going to build a mini vv woodie but it never got started. The hill looks a bit bumpy on the 4th picture. More TTS should fix it, if not then I would add some flexies in the holes of the crossties. That should strengthen it enough. Can't wait to see more!

Thanks! There were very minor bumps I fixed so it was mostly just the angle I believe.

Verbal update this time.

The layout is finished! (kinda) It was put on display and the display was a huge success!

The reason I say kind of finished is because I don't like the ending. The final turn if just a non-banked 180 turn and it flies through it. The ending is too quick and I have more pieces I can make the layout longer with and I intended to do so. I'm going to upload a YouTube video later today when I get a chance with a picture of the turn I'm talking about.

Thanks for reading! Feedback on what I should change the turn to is VERY much appreciated. Any feedback is also appreciated!

Any feedback is appreciated!

Well you did what you could in the time and that was pretty good for how quickly you built it. I'm glad you're thinking about how to make it better now you have more time. This could be a pretty sweet little woodie.

Nice job on this.  No secret I love woodies!  A few tips.  In my experience there is less stress on the connectors and the rods if you keep the connectors in a woodie turn in the vertical plane.  Putting them horizontal as you have here will eventually ruin the connectors, they will get lose.  The valley on the first drop is a bit tight.  I think it would look more realistic and maintain speed better if it was double the radius at the bottom.

Keep up the great work!

Thanks! Long story short, my Boy Scout troop needed a theme for last month's merit badge. I wanted engineering and I was told if I wanted to do engineering, I would need to bring an example of engineering to a meeting, hence the display.

Thanks! I personally think it came out quite well considering this is my (counts of fingers) 5th completed coaster.

This means a lot to get a comment from someone with as much experience and a reputation as you do!  I'll see what I can do with connectors in the future.

COASTER IS FINISHED I need to create the final video and other bits but its done! I'll get a test video up as soon as I have a chance.
